Sorry, I thought "great quotables" referred specifically to your translation.

Understandable. But no, some of them are just pretty universal. Like, there's an English school in the game where the teacher is making his students repeat, "This is a pen!" (a very common phrase used in modern English classes in Japan)... and later, one of the samurai who sat in on said English class charges into battle yelling, in English, "THIS IS A PEN!!"

So basically, there are 'What do you mean it's not awesome!' moments?

LOL! I'm normally not a fan of ninja/samurai games anymore, but moments like this will definitely make me think twice about passing on this one.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun translating it, that's good to hear. After all the horror stories of Ys, and especially Trails in the Sky, I believe you guys can take a break every so often with these types of games.

Horror stories of Ys? Ys Origin's presented some challenges due to the way the text is separated, but for the most part, the Ys games have been pretty smooth sailing. Samurai 4, on the other hand, was probably the most difficult translation I've ever worked on, despite being fun!

Still, your point stands, and the sentiment is appreciated.

Oh? I kinda thought SC would be the most difficult considering the size and all...

Length and difficulty are two very different things. SC is the most time-consuming... but that doesn't make it the most difficult!

(Of course, it doesn't make it easy, either!)
