Don't play and drink kids!![]()
Yeah, that doesn't exactly speak too highly of the game's quality. In fact, I think inebriation is probably ideal for getting full enjoyment out of this title.
It's just the kind of game it is. If you're not the sort who appreciates ludicrous things, you probably won't like this game. If you are... you'll probably LOVE it.
It's not the sort of game you're going to want to play if you're looking for deep, polished, refined gameplay, in other words. It's the kind of game you'll want to play if you're looking for mindless, hilarious fun.
Take that as you will.

Well, I loved 1 for the freedom of doing whatever I wanted, and 2 for the same reasons, though 1 was better imo. I think I'll enjoy itFrom what I read, it sounds like a samurai version of Saints Row The Third, just obviously, not as insane.

Looking forward to chasing some women when I'm drunk. Hit on the woman I'm in pursuit of? I challenge you to a duel!! Definitely gonna enjoy this after a night out in the pub![]()

Three nights running now I've had the most unusually disturbing dream,
where I'm a 19th century french painter with a pallet and paint brush and beret and an ill fitting black suit
where I'm painting perfectly rectangular white lines on an endless snaking desert where people are yelling at me
"You missed a spot"
Hey Tom just want to throw a "What If" question at you relating to these types of games.
Here I go, What if after you guys release this game, and Sega out of nowhere liked your work on it asked you if you would like to localize Yakuza Kenzan!, would you say yes?
Seeing as you love this series and cite Yakuza, I thought I should ask you directly. It's okay if you don't want to answer that haha, just wanted to throw that out there.
Also I can't wait for this game, love the series. I was a little scared that it wasn't going to be localized because no one would be interested this time around, or because some of the content the game contains like "Night Crawling" would scare all the publishers away. So thank you guys for doing this, I will import the psychical release later down the line when it gets a price drop(avid collector), buying the digital version first day.

I would like to say that I am very happy to see that we will be getting this game digital download or not it’s still exciting.
I was wondering if we would be getting any more information about this any time soon such as what features will be in the game for example the weight system for sword creation from the last game and so on.
All in all information or not again I'm just happy to know that I will be able to get this game without importing it now.
I think you've misinterpreted a statement or two of mine! I don't actually KNOW this series very well, truth be told. I've never played any other game in it, save for right as I began localization (for research purposes). And I'm typically not a huge fan of sandbox titles, so while it is impressive that this game managed to grab me (and speaks volumes to its allure!), it's more of a exception to the rule for me than it is a paradigm shift.Hey Tom just want to throw a "What If" question at you relating to these types of games.

As such, I don't really have much attachment to the Yakuza series, and most certainly would choose to stay with XSEED over joining Sega to localize a Yakuza title. (Though if Sega ever gave *us* one of the Yakuza games, I'd be thrilled to try my hand at working on it!)
...This leads into Noahsol's question. Having not played the previous games much, I can't really compare their gameplay styles very thoroughly. The one thing I did learn from my brief time with the previous titles, however, is that each game in the series has its own feel and its own identity, and Samurai 4 is no different. There are definitely "features" missing from this game that were present in previous titles, but in their place are a whole NEW set of features that have never been seen before in this or any other series (such as the night-crawling and torture minigames, to list the two most obvious).
I've also heard from others that this game has a more involving combat system than other titles in the series, so hopefully, you too will agree that what's been gained far outweighs anything that may have been lost.
