(Although it's about a movie, I figured moving to 'serious discussion' would work better for the topic itself...)
So firstly, I had NO idea the movie The Adventures of Milo and Otis was a dub of a Japanese movie. Secondly, I had NO IDEA the movie was edited... Now, I'm all for saying 'no' to censorship, but in this case I'm VERY glad they made the cuts they did!!
You see, I watch Nostalgia Critic/Chick often and figured I'd watch one of the reviews I missed from a few weeks ago. You know, the one about the cute animals. I remember watching it when I was young and how one of my friends said it was her FAVORITE movie at the time... Well, now I can't see it in the same way as I did... I had no idea about the animal violence in the original Japanese cut...
Here is the video review but with a WARNING about the cut footage... It's disturbing... I wish I knew what I was to expect
For those curious on the issue that would rather read about it than watch it, check out the Wiki page here.
Now, why am I posting this? I'm just shocked... I would NEVER have known! Ignorance can be bliss, but I guess it's best to know what really happens, right? Either way: WHY JAPANESE FILMAKERS, WHY??!! You could've made your artsy movie without those choice scenes in it... It just makes me sad![]()
