It sounds like they will try to make it canon. In the interview I wrote my article on, he has a specific point in the series that he seems to want to do the game and all.

Yeah, I re-read it and caught where he said it would take place after Sora no Kiseki The 3rd. So, it's almost a guarantee it is canon if that's the case.

Well, there is a 'Zero prestory' manga that takes place after 3rd, but it really only focuses on Estelle and Joshua and it's really a small bit of story. There's a LOT that goes on in 3rd that isn't around the two of them. In fact, Estelle's one of the last characters to rejoin the party in 3rd.

The big thing to remember is that they're no longer the protagonists in 3rd. That's Kevin and Ries. Then you have all these memory doors that let you learn about the backgrounds of the other party members. (The other 14 party members, in fact. 3rd has 16 playable characters at the end.)

What about the dialogue with Lloyd in Alternative Saga? Though its been debated that its not canon and its 1 scene. It does kinda foreshadow a event in Zero.

I wouldn't consider anything in Alternative Saga canon.

Actually, it's been a very long while since I've played AS. (Now I might dig it out because of this discussion, hah.) - so I don't exactly remember the dialogue in particular.

Aeria Games? I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean, they're not bad... but, they're not too brilliant either.

Probably going to be a rather insignificant sidestory game like FFIV After Years. I don't think I'll be missing out on much.
