Such hospitality from a "warm, welcome" community.
Well of course. It all depends on how you express yourself.

The thing is expressing yourself in the form of satire and comedy apparently is a problem to some users.

And that's how he expressed himself? Well, no wonder then.

Well, getting offended over comedy and satire is kind of like getting upset over skits performed by Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert.

Anyway, I see no listing in the rules regarding satire.

Sometimes I think people get the wrong idea of what "satire" actually is... Many of the posts have been reported/deleted for being purposely antagonizing.

As with most comedy,if your delivery fails, your joke falls flat on it's face.

And why are we singling this thread out instead of the dozens of others threads that exist or got derailed into the DDvsR fight? And specially now, when it seems the "rage" has been calming down...

    True or false = sensitivity?

You can do that? Can you do that with threads too? Would be useful when making polls sense afaik there is no way to edit polls for spelling errors and such if you notice them after pressing the submit button.

So I read half of the thread...it was too much to read it all. But what I gleaned out of what I read is:

"XSeed is...in the same financial situation that Working Designs was in before they went under."

In other words they're trying to bring niche games that no other game company has the stones to bring, to non-Japan countries, yet don't have the coffers to support the initiative fully. They are thus trying to transition to a digital distribution model and stop or delay the inevitable outcome.

It's the same situation as Sega with Valkyria Chronicles. Started as an epic PS3 game, went to a mediocre PSP game, now we're not even getting the third which is allegedly back to the epicness, but stuck on a handheld.

The problem is not that people don't like the game. The problem is that there isn't any advertisement of the game or how good it is. I passed over Trails in the Sky for months until I got bored enough to give it a try - and loved it. Same thing happened with Valkyria Chronicles (which, to its credit, did get some limited store advertisement).

IT boggles my mind that when a Gears of War or Ghost Recon or Call of Duty or any other FPS comes out, we'll get blasted with CONSTANT commercials about the game. Yet these RPGs from Japan get nothing. And then the publishers get upset because gamers don't buy the games; "those stupid Americans don't like these kinds of RPGs" how can they? They don't know they're out there or what they're about.

I don't agree that 100% digital distribution is the answer or future of anything. Bandwidth caps make that a flying myth. To me, physical media is always going to yield a better experience.

    My rant is over.
