I personally think it was great the way it was. Liberl is a pretty big area as a whole. They do go into the 'open area' setting in Crossbell with Zero and Ao- but even at points, they block off areas of Crossbell to make sure you do what's necessary at the point.

I personally think this is a great thing: I doesn't seem realistic the game if you can go everywhere whenever you want (like in Final Fantasy), so at some point the priority must be the plot.

Then there's also the fact that if there was free movement in Liberl, every NPC would have to change their dialogue to the plot instead of the localized ones around the party.

Yeah, you're right... the script would have become too big.

I'm also fairly sure that when the (hopefully!) Erebonia game finally comes around, that might be so big that they need to keep some minimal control down for script and world-size. (Erebonia is hyooj liek xbox?? something like that.)

Yeah I'm truly waiting it, they must do a game placed in the country of Olivier & Muller!

There's not a language patch, no. I know some people have tried playing with the AGTH on the PC version, but I didn't use that utility myself.

I tried something like that on some games I played back then and it kinda didn't work well at the time.

You should try it just to see how poorly it works. Machine translations rarely seem to work right for even simple sentences in Asian languages, I can't imagine it doing any good for this series.

I have considered that! But AGTH is such a pain to get running from my experience that it wouldn't be worth it to do it, I think.

So, I got a bit further into the game now. Did you guys know that you can grab fresh eggs from chickens in this game!? I just like chasing them, but I laughed when I actually got one. Also, what do I do with the "black book" that I got near the end of Chapter 1?

EDIT: Okay, I figured out what to do with the black book now. I'm in Ruan. I find it funny how a busy and fully booked hotel can be so empty. Where did all those tourists go?? Also, there was a brief scene with the tour guide talking about the Hundred Days War, but you don't interact with it... I'm wondering if keeping/reading Joshua's book is actually useful for the game. Also, does anyone know where I can find a fishing pole to try and fish for the old guy's dentures by the bridge (there's a bar near the warehouses that has some, but Estelle only ponders if she can borrow one), or is that just not part of the game?

EDIT 2: For the "Make Him Leave" quest, if you choose less elegent manners, Estelle charges "HYAAA!" - that was hilarious! It kind of makes me wish that the game had both BP and character points, or something. Most of the time, when I'm playing the game and there are choices, I'm not thinking "what would I do?", I'm thinking "what would this character do?".

EDIT 3: Would anyone want to share their orbment builds for their characters? It would also be nice if someone could explain "lines" and "slots" to me too. Haha!

* "Mr. Tiddles" is a reoccurring character that is referenced in many XSEED games and has even crossed over into Aksys games territory. It is also rumored that he might make a brief appearance in the next Zeboyd Games title.
