SEGA in the hole! Time to buy those licences XSEED!

    http://www.siliconera.com/2012/03/30...cture-company/

Only positive spin I can pull from this is that SEGA might be more willing to sell off publishing rights to certain games (Yakuza portable/Shining Series).

I don't see this impacting Phantasy Star Online 2 either, which is good.

Edit: For stupidity. I meant The Yakuza PSP games, not Genso Suikoden - though someone really needs to localize that too!

Maybe they'd be desperate enough to license Valkyria Chronicles 3, assuming they don't have any plans themselves...

...Nah. This is Sega we're talking about.

SEGA Sammy lost more money this last quarter than XSEED has likely ever made. I don't think buying bits and pieces is very reasonable, haha.

Also, SEGA has nothing to do with Suikoden. That is Konami's problem.

It'd be nice to see more Shining games and Valkyria Chronicles III released here, but Sega has nothing to do with the Suikoden series...That's Konami.

Well it looks like Namco might be brinnging Xillia over, so Hell hath officially frozen over. I'm still forced to import Saint Seiya from Amazon.uk though.

Anyhoo, I'd love Aksys or XSEED to pick up one or two of SEGAs properties. Such a waste to leave those gems in Japan. I really hate that corporate mentality of "If we can't publish it, no one will!" Especially when distribution is being made easier and easier by the day (digital).

I don't think buying properties is going to be possible, but opening up to working with outside parties to get some games released would be nice. Nintendo did it for the first time in years with Last Story, so maybe Sega will defy illogic.

I doubt Sega would be willing to change any policies because of this, they're too stubborn.

Pretty interesting (and funny) that,of the only 4 games that are not getting touched at all,two of them are PC exclusives.Maybe they should give Devil's Details (their PC port outfit) more work to do... :v

I need to introduce you to a few US based ones then. No matter which side of the ocean you want to talk about, there are always a few who have the stubbornness of a mule. And while as consumers we can see it in a bad light (especially with how the game industry is right now), they usually aren't trying to make us mad when they keep crossing their arms and shaking their head no at us.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 would have been great to see over here and I would buy it in a hearbeat if it did. But lets be honest, after the first one it was doomed to fail due to the change in game type with VC2, as well as the unfortunate truth that the North American PSP market is absolute shi-bacon. So once VC3 went back to its (mostly) original style of the 1st one, it was already way too late for us.
