I think making a game with planned extra ending DLC from the get-go is dumb and I want it to go away.

Making a game where the devs were fine with the ending but the fans hated it and demanded a new one, so they make a new one... I don't have a problem with it. I don't have to buy it, since the game had an ending whether I liked it or not.

I didn't vote in the poll for the record, it's too biased.

I think games at this point should expect to get some kind of DLC (at least for major releases). Of course that DLC should come in the form of extra quests, side stories, costumes and things like that. Selling the "true" ending of a game as DLC is just a disappointment. I really fear for the future of gaming if companies are going to continue this trend.

Honestly, it entirely depends, if the game is purposely getting butchered so that a part that should have been in the finished product can be sold as DLC, then no, i don't like the trend. But i also don't like meaningless DLC, like cheats, extra items and so on...that defeats the purpose of playing the game, if there have to be cheats, they should be unlockable within the game, not buyable as DLC.

If it extends the life of the game, i'm all for it though.

Im fine with DLC but i want an full complete game, not an half game or 80 % game.
Im seeing DLC as maybe an extra dungeon, costumes, Multiplayer support or some extra neat stuff not really needed to complete the main game.
But if they are gonna force me to buy DLC just so that i know how a game will end then i will stop buying games.

Not voted either since im not completly against it but not completly for it either.

I know a lot of people think DLC in general is the bane of the industry, but I think it's nice if it's something that extends the game via side-story or bonus missions and what have you. I like it a lot in rhythm games particularly-I like being able to hand-pick songs I'd like. :]

However, I think when games are as pricey as they are now, and this is assuming the mainstream commercial market, indie games aside [though they're ironically starting to contain more value per dollar these days, hmmm], to get the full story, with a beginning, middle, and end for the price I pay is just asking for something I should have. Nobody goes to the movies to go back the next day, pay an extra 5 bucks, THEN watch the final 15 minutes of the film. I don't need to "unlock" any chapters of my book when I go buy it from the store-it's a complete book, a complete narrative. While DLC may be raking in profits now, pushing it like this will only make more people opt-out of the game in the long run. *shrug*

No, they do parts Harry Potter was ligit. It would have been too long, same for Lord of the Rings. But aside that...no

It was, I'll concede to that! But each Harry Potter film, barring the final movie, is a full experience. Harry comes, saves Hogwarts, takes his summer break, then does it all over again! Just a day in the life, lol! :P And even the final movie was split into two movies of a generally equal length. Plus, it was for the sake of leaving no detail glossed over, but also not making a butt-numbing 6 hour movie that families [target audience] wouldn't wanna sit through. That's the issue with ending DLC-you get a cliffhanger that isn't as justified, and you are paying a good price for significantly less material. And you already paid quite a sum up front. Even a game with sequels should "end" in my opinion. o: You should be able to feel satisfied at the conclusion. ^^

I'll never buy or support a game that does such a thing. If the developer of the game continues to do so in other games I'll just stop supporting them outright.

I haven't bought a Bioware game since 2007 and I've not touched XIII or XIII-2. I'm also against yearly sequels and haven't touched Gust since 2006 because of it
