Maybe, maybe not. Most sales are pretty early on (with preorders being a lion's share) and most sales later on end up being used (which obviously don't help XSEED). "Limited" means different things depending on the game and my assumption is that this limited release will be more generous than say a limited PSP title run. It does mean that if you want to pick it up, you should pick it up fairly early because there MIGHT be a price drop, or supply MIGHT run out and you're forced to pay the going scalper rate.

I don't think it is going to sell over time. Lets use Zelda: SS as an example, the limited edition sold out through pre-orders and the regular editions are still on shelves.

Hmm pretty good interview. I like the response for the casual question. Good games sell consoles, It doesn't matter the type. While I see the position that Xseed is in with the limited runs but if for some reason this does happen to sell really well would XSeed consider doing a second run or 3rd? Also sorry I have been away from here I have been kinda busy with things.

Unless Nintendo ponies up the dough for an LE, I can't see XSEED financially being able to do one, though any extras they throw our way would be awesome! Even if there are no extras and a bare-bones instruction manual, I already have this game pre-ordered and am pleased as punch it's coming to the US so I can add it to my shelf. :-D

Why not? Not that XSEED has a ton of money or anything, but they've done quite a quite a few, and this game will probably be their best selling to date. It probably wouldn't be anything spectacularly fancy or anything, but they should at least be able to do a small artbook, music CD, and maybe some other little goody as long as they can work out all the details with Nintendo/Mistwalker/Uematsu. Wouldn't be surprised to see something like the Ys Seven one.

Just my guess after reading through the forums about costs and such. I could be totally wrong (and I hope I am), but reading the staff's comments here makes it feel like XSEED is struggling a lot financially. If they have Nintendo/Mistwalker/Uematsu support, I can see them doing something, but not necessarily a Limited Edition. Maybe something like Nintendo and Gamestop did for Xenoblade where they threw in an artbook for pre-orders?

I guess in addition to all the retailers that XSEED that is covering they could also do something with Nintendo's Online store and Mistwaker. I don't know something like sending some kind of confirmation that you have the game and you would get something back. Maybe a CD of the games soundtrack. Nintendo could mass produce that and they would just have basically work with Mistwalker and that would and that would leave XSEED to just work on localization of the game and it really wouldn't be to much risk for them monitary wise. Nintendo would just have to ship it out to the retailers that are getting the game from XSEED. Gamers get a nice bonus for getting a preorder, XSEED doesn't have to have much risk money wise and Mistwalker can let gamers enjoy a great part of the game on the go. A win win win.
