That ball is in XSEED's court, not Sony's. But if sales are slow (which given there's like 2 people on this forum that have admitted to owning this, they may just be) they'll likely want to spurr sales with a price drop. The game feels like it has a tonne less text than Corpse Party, yet they're the same price!

The rating you get for a mission is based on two factors if I understand it correctly, time and damage taken. If you lose more than half your lifebar you might as well just restart the level before finishing it unless there is a health pickup before the boss. Most missions only take a few minutes though so I feel it just spurs me to perfect my strategy.
I share your views on the game being pricey considering the content but I'm personally having a blast with it.

I still think your status in a level is too vague. There's no in-game timer, and as you mentioned your life can be restored so often. This is a good showcase to me that Acquire really needs the guidance of Sony to make a good bitesized game.
