Well Xseed has been pretty badass the past 2 years so maybe if they keep this up more and more people will support them and they may eventually start putting more into the series. There is always a chance of fan-translation for the 3rd (it would be a huge project but not as bad as SC) only the future will tell I suppose.

The issues with the ZnK port is somewhat exaggerated. The game runs perfectly fine and looks great in 1080P. The one and only issue with it was that the control is not optimized for KB+M. But only those who played ED6 originally on PC would find the new ported controls irksome.

I don't know in the exaggerated part. I've had nothing but issues with mine crashing and not being able to run on multiple computers. It can't even play the sound effects properly. While it does look great, it's kind of offputting to play the game with just the music.

Right. I guess individual experiences can vary. Nevermind ZnK, I would just like to see an SnK title released in English on the PC.

Actually, I'm of the same mind set. Does the 3rd Chapter really add much content to the overall SnK mythos and overarching story? IIRC, most of the main ends get wrapped up in 2

I actually wanna hold off on replaying the PSP game again if FC is released on PC.

Heh, you just asked a mouthful with Floofy around. 3rd is her favorite.

Haha, I'm not surprised it has its fans... I guess I was just a bit blue that it doesn't necessarily have Estelle and Joshua at the reins. I just found it weird for a "chapter" to star new leads, is all. :S
But hey, if it's good it's good.

Hmm. Floof will brain me for this, but taken by itself, it doesn't add much crucial stuff. The core Sky story does get wrapped up fairly satisfactorily in SC; Third is, in that sense, mostly about filling in the corners that there simply wasn't time or room for in either FC or SC. It elaborates on some character backstories, the nature and structure of the antagonists (which SC sort of obfuscates deliberately), and a lot of general setting stuff and a few characters who get mentioned in FC/SC, but simply couldn't be worked into the plot proper.

Now, what it really does is help set up a lot of the stuff in the Crossbell games. You can actually go into Zero no Kiseki without having played Third and not miss... too much (aside from some relevant information pertaining to one character), but Ao no Kiseki more or less assumes you played Third to completion and you will be Fairly Confused if you haven't played that before Ao.

Yes, I will TOTALLY brain you for th-

    Just kidding.

I actually agree. The stuff in 3rd is /extremely/ important for Zero/Ao. I will say that you can probably play Zero without 3rd, but you won't have the impact of a lot of the game, but don't even try playing Ao without it.

I think RyougaSaotome on twitter put it best- that when you look at the series as a whole- this is from Sora to Ao, 3rd is probably one of the most important keys to a lot of things in it.

However, the reason I like 3rd so much is that you get to get a look at a pretty intriguing part of the world, but it gives you a ton of mysteries. I've said this before, and I'll say it again:

SC does a nice job in wrapping things up. You still have a lot of those hanging plot-threads, but nothing too terrible left over. It was a three year wait between 3rd and Zero- and man, that was an awful, awful wait. xD; 3rd took a lot of those nice, neatly wrapped up plot-threads and made you pay attention to ALL OF THEM. Then it's no longer wrapped up all nice and neat.

Mind you. Like with FC, it closes its overarching story, and there really isn't a cliffhanger on it like FC had- none of the other games in the series are that crazy.

Also- as much as I love the PSP port for its difficulty levels and extra items... I'd actually probably prefer the PC port, if only because Falcom edited a memory door in 3rd... (though we might not be so lucky- you can get around CERO ratings with PC releases in Japan, but I don't think you can with ESRB here?)

ESRB ratings aren't required for Steam releases. If they went retail/console they would need it though.

At the same time, depending on the nature of the content, it still might need to be edited just to go on Steam at all. Not sure if they check for that or not, but as far as I know there's nothing particularly vulgar on there.... I guess... Binding of Isaac... yeah...
