Nah its basically a whole new character set in a time one thousand years into the past. The only returning character would have been the old guy that spoke with a Bristish accent. I don't remember his name. It basically tells the story of how the incorruptus came to be. How the malignant evil came for it. Basically the same old story except this time your avatar is the main character. I could keep going but from here it would be spoilers though I doubt any of us will ever export the game here. Basically your avatar fell into a kinda sleep for all those years while he battled the Big Bad and won but had to stay behind to save everyone else.
