Ys Origin is NOT a remake of Ys I & II. It's a prequel to the whole series. May seem obvious to some... but I've encountered a few people who seem to be under the impression that it's just another version of Ys I & II, so I wanted to be very clear that it's not. It's an original title -- an Ys 0, if you will.

I've also heard of Ys "Complete". I know that "Chronicles" is I & II, but I'm wondering if "Complete" was a different compilation.

Also... "The Claw"?

Eternal, Complete, Eternal Story and Chronicles are all I & II. Basically, Eternal was the first PC remake, Complete was a slight update of that, Eternal Story was an updated PS2 port of Complete, and Chronicles was a further updated PSP port of Complete that was later back-ported to PC.

Falcom really, really loves Ys I & II, it seems.

And yeah, "The Claw" is a bit of a cheesy name, but I kinda like it. Fortunately, he doesn't call himself that very often, nor do most of the other characters.

I always thought it was kind of silly. I mean, yeah, it does offer an easy way to prevent spoilers, but the name barely has any relevance in-game at all. And if you play Hugo's route first, IIRC, you find out his real name the first time you see him.

Yeah, he's not a very well-hidden hidden character, nor a very mysterious mysterious character. But he IS super-fun to play. (:

Dude, it was developed for and only for the PC and was never ported to any handhelds.

Yeah, it HAS to be PC-only. Falcom has yet to make or commission a port.
