Wait does it have to be specifically for Steam? If what you said would be what happend that really wouldn't be good considering i'd still be downloading the game....that sucks. Can't some PC games bought just be compatiable with Steam but still have the game disc(s) instead of a steam installer and code.....or no?
Iunno, but physical steam games always looked like glorified backup installers to me.I remember reading that installing from a CD doesn't always work right. And that some games got so many files patched that most of the game ends up being patched anyways (MW2). You could do a steam-free version,I guess (pretty sure valve does not lock you in to their service),but then cost/benefit...
You should. If you stick around, you might find out soon enough why people go all "master race" over this platform. :P

The best thing about Steam CD/DVD releases is that they are often cheaper than buying directly from Steam. But I guess that only applies to big titles.
Well yeah. Let's take Shogun 2 for example. Normal Steam price 40 euros, usual retail DVD price around 20 euros, Steam midweek madness 10 euros, cheapest retail DVD price around 6 euros.
And I'm an idiot for buying my 2nd shogun from Steam only to notice few minutes later I could have got it cheaper and easier if I had bought a 2nd DVD. You can't win always, sad![]()
