Felghana and Origin on Steam!

Oh yeah, Wyrd: Do you think you guys will release the games' soundtracks for download over Steam, too? I know Bastion and probably some other games did that, and considering the popularity of Ys' music...

I'm not sure about OiF, but Origin had its music files in player-ready Ogg Vorbis format in one of its folders, making an OST release somewhat moot. I suspect OiF is similar -- just pretend you're buying the OST along with the price of the game.

Apparently no, here was Wyrdwad's answer to a similar question I asked him earlier on this thread.

No, I'm afraid not. This is the original PC version, as-is, with the only additions being Steamworks features.

Conure: Pretty much dead, I'm afraid. Unless Felghana sells waaaaaaaaaay more than we're anticipating, anyway. Then... who knows?

Regarding music, Neuts is correct -- both Felghana and Origin contain OGG files for every music track, which are playable in almost any media player (sometimes you'll need to download a plugin, but most should support OGG format natively). If you'd like to buy the soundtracks digitally anyway, though, you can do so via iTunes. The looping is slightly different on the soundtracks than it is in the OGG files, meaning most tracks have totally different endings, making soundtrack purchases not entirely without their merits!

Guardian: As Knight mentioned, we're providing a straight Steam port of the original PC version of Felghana. The only added features will be the Steamworks-related ones.

Also something interesting, the Ys: The Oath in Felghana sub-section on steam's forum has not been created yet, which I assume will open up on launch day.

We're pretty new to this whole Steam thing, so please do bear with us as we figure things out! We'll try to make sure we've gotten the hang of things before Ys Origin, at least.
