Well, even for a "broken" vita that is worth $20. I'm used to ask online retailers to put a smaller price on the receipt, but not all of them allow that.

Poor sources aside, I find this hard to believe simply because the game is only being sold in two locations over here.

    a.) nintendo.com
    Who buys games from here?

    b.) Gamestop
They're the biggest but far from 100% of the market. No bestbuy/walmart/amazon leaves out a huge chunk of potential buyers.

Meanwhile the game was sold "everywhere" games are sold in JP/EU. I picture it having maybe a 20~30k launch. To match or surpass other regions? Good luck with that!

I guarantee it's overexaggerated. Atlus has confirmed that they GREATLY overexaggerated a game's numbers once. Apparently (whichever game it was), said it sold X amount in a week... turns out it NEVER even sold that amount in a YEAR since it was out!

So I can say that realistically speaking, the number is MUCH smaller. I know Operational Rainfall uses the numbers as SOMETHING, and to brighten the group's hopes, but it's silly to use AT ALL. People ASSUME it's "around that number" but no, no it's not... Realistically looking at it, if it says 143,000, I'd say it's more like... 43,000. Trust me, I WANT it to do good, but niche is niche...

Yeah, I'd be highly skeptical that this game's sold anywhere near those numbers. It'd be great and all but with as limited of a release as this is, I doubt anyone but the people actively wanting it will be going for it. Now word of mouth may help with sales later...assuming Nintendo doesn't limit the print run to preorders only.

While I don't trust VGChartz numbers at all, I do think Xenoblade does have potential to do pretty well. For a JRPG, I mean. I think the whole "it's not coming" scare and OpRainfall ultimately drew attention to the game and got people interested. Essentially, a best-case word of mouth scenario.

Niche is niche, but Xenoblade will at least surpass Nintendo's already small expectation. It has been #1 Most Anticipated Game from all Gamestop for months.

I believe it WILL do well, but in time... I mean, I don't think there is as many preorders as VGChartz thinks, but I still DO believe it'll do good as time goes on! I'm sure there's tons of people that will buy it without preordering, others that will hear it's good from their friends, and if RedBox gets it, would help people be exposed to it more.

Basically, it just needs to come out and be out for a little bit to really see what the numbers/demand for it is!

Apparently mentioned by a Nintendo employee on a private blog, according to a post I read on IGN. (Yeah I know reliable right?) Operation rainfall will be mentioned in the credits of the NA release of the game.
