    Where to Buy Mangas?

I'm trying to find someplace i can buy the Chobits manga (the original volumes, not the Omnibus versions), but so far it's a no go because i want it new. I tried Amazon, but unless i'm missing something, Amazon itself is not selling it, it's through other vendors. Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million has them listed, but no picture and a Publication Date of 2009 which is a little misleading since the originals came out around 2002/2003, so i'm hesistant on purchasing from them. Rightstuf doesn't have the originals at all, only the Omnibus versions.

Any ideas where i could buy them, preferably new, from?

With the originals from 2002/2003, I imagine that finding them new would be pretty hard. :/

If there are any around you, you could try Used Bookstores. Despite the name, I have found new books in them (or, books tha looked darn near new). Unless they were wrapped; I am not sure if used stores are allowed to accept wrapped things. Still, it is an idea. I imagine Google could help you look for that.

Uhm, hmm... yeah, I can not imagine any big chain stores having those, really. Especially with so many of them closing stores.

Well, I am sorry that I was not more help. :/ I would still check out used book stores. Either way, let us know if you find them. :3

I actually don't have any problems with buying them used...but i'm hesistant to buy something i can't see and inspect. eBay would work wonderfully, but more then 75% of the listings are using stock photos :|

I'll have to check some bookstores then, assuming i find any in my area. Otherwise i guess i'll have to take the risk buying it online.

I haven't bought manga in a long time, but it sounds like the books you're looking for are out of print. But I would just look around any bookstore near you. You might get lucky and find them. Also it can't hurt to look online and see if you can find anything with an actual picture of what you're buying, and not just a stock photo.

Any particular reason why you don't want the omnibuses?

I guess if i had to give one reason, for collections purposes, i'ld rather get each volume seperately.

That makes sense. There are certain omnibuses I like better than the regular volumes, like Rurouni Kenshin. Those are printed on much higher quality paper than the original releases and even have some color pages. Even though I have the whole series, I've been considering upgrading to the omnibuses. Kenshin is my favorite manga series, and probably the only (or at least one of the few) series I won't eventually get rid of. Although I've seen other omnibuses that are cheaply made compared to the individual volumes.
