There's too much for me to handle, Stealth! An overload of stuff I want to play...
Currently Playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Digimon Adventure, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
Games Beaten in 2013: 8: Retro Game Challenge, Corpse Party 2U, Code of Princess, Dark Souls, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Atelier Meruru, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Liberation Maiden
Turn-based? Some of my all-time favorites, pretty much in this order:
Final Fantasy VI
Lost Odyssey
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy IV
Legend of Dragoon
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy VII
Lufia
Shadow Hearts
Grandia 2
Turn-based? Can they be strategy?
If so,
Disgaea 4
Disgaea 1
Disgaea 3
Etrian Odyssey 3
Persona 3
Yalkyria Chronicles 2
Fate/Extra
Simple Final Fantasy titles (1-3 .etc)

PM for PSN/3DS whatnot

Okay, so these are ordered in the way that I found their turn-based battle systems overall were awesome, not how much I liked the game overall. Although, all of these are games I either really love or simply like.
1) Persona 4
2) Lost Odyssey
3) Shadow Hearts: Covenant
4) Suikoden V
5) Legaia 2
6) Baten Kaitos
7) Xenosaga: Episode I
8) Chrono Cross
9) Final Fantasy X
10) The Last Rebellion
If I could actually thoroughly look at our game collection right now, I might have made the list a little different, but right now all I have is memory so it's probably an imperfect list.

PSN: Duszynski
Xbox 360 Gamertag: Queen Amila

Here is a short list:
Some people don't like them but I also like the Saga series.

- Wizardry series
- Suikoden series
- Shadow Hearts series
- Persona/SMT series
- Digital Devil Saga series
- Dragon Quest/Warrior series
- Lufia series
- Arc the Lad series
- Breath of Fire series
- Growlanser series (though not exactly turn based)
- Class of Heroes (as soon as the second one hits the U.S.)
- And of course Legend of Heroes (both series)
In no particular order, here's the ones I not only really liked but beat from start to finish (which is rare for me):
Final Fantasy 6-10
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Grandia 1 and 2
Persona 4
Skies of Arcadia
Parasite Eve 1
Suikoden Tierkreis (haters gonna hate)
And some I liked but didn't beat:

Trails in the Sky (on hold)
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturn
Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2
Persona 3 FES
Super Mario RPG
Lunar Silver Star Story
Dark Wizard
Wild Arms 1

Everyone seems to like XIII-2 better than XIII, so if you ever want to play XIII, doing it first would probably be a good idea, if only to decide you don't like it and skip it.
That and it'll make stuff in XIII-2 make sense unless you want to do tons of reading, (as it has plot summary of XIII included), and will probably spoil XIII's plot to you anyway.
Not that I'd call XIII a turn-based game though, as it's probably the fastest version of the ATB system.
