Favorite SRPGs of this gen (List Series 1)

1) Valkyria chronicles 1,2,3 - Nice setting, Original, Characters you really care about
2) Agarest 1, zero ,2 - The idea of generations, marrage, carry over from game to game is quite original for srpgs, so I think it deserves a nice mention
3) Disgaea 3,4 - What can I say? Disgaea is awesome
4) Final fantasy Tactics Advance 2 - A metric ton of awesome content
5) Devil survivor 1,2 - One of the very few traditional/ srpg hybrids that works, see below for the next one that works
6) Legend of heroes (everything) - Gaming glory
7) Super robot wars Z2 part 1, and super robot was L - Code geass and evangelion came to life in both of these entries.
8) Luminous arc 1,2,3 - Nothing original but very fun
9) 'd arc - level 5's first srpg happened to be one of there best games this gen
10) gungir - a spear that falls from the sky. It doesnt get more original and the art style is insanity

Honorable Mentions
Pokemon x nobuinga - It isnt out yet, but if it where I can guarentee I would love this srpg
Shining blade/ force feathers - Havent finished either yet
tactics ogre psp - I tried to stay away from enhanced ports
disgaea 1,2 psp - Same as above
ff tactics psp - Same as above
growlanser I/IV - Same as above
blue roses - First game from the former company known as flight plan. It came out pretty damn well, but its very very niche

Tough choice, but Devil Survivor for me. I enjoy the themes and aesthetic more in SMT games/spinoffs.

I have not actually played many games on this list, so, I suppose that I will have to go with Devil Survivor. I do not really cosndiering Trails to be an SRPG, but that is just me.

For the PSP, I agree that Jeanne D'Arc was a great, underrated SRPG , although the absence of a French language option saddens me. If you're going to mention FF Tactics (which feels very dated if still good), I think Wild Arms XF deserves a look in as well. There are some balance issues, but the occasional, truly tactical, difficulty spikes are enjoyable for me and together with the western style, great soundtrack and class system, it's a quality title.

Shogun 2 Total War is presumably also quite good just going from the sleepless nights my ex-flatmate spent with it.

I love Jeanne D'Arc as a historical personality, but I couldn't stand the PSP game. Anyway, I believe that Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 is pretty much the greatest SRPG ever made. The game tells you from the very beginning to simply have fun. How many games do that?
