Wait, so Innocent Sin is only half of Persona 2? Or what?

Sounds like a huge rip-off to me.

Persona 2 Eternal Punishment is a sequel and it is set in a parallel world where the events of the Innocent Sin did not happen. This time the main character is Maya.

Well, people still have their PSPs, and yeah, stores like Wal-Mart and Target are dropping PSP support like a hot potato, but these games are usually not sold their anyways; the audience for this game would be the type to go to Gamestop or Amazon to buy it, I think, but that is jusy my theory, that is not backed up by much. Though, maybe Gamestops are shrinking their PSP sections as well... I am not sure.

Either way, I think it would do well, but I suppose we should wait until Gungnir and Growlanser release, and how much PSP users are biting.

Further to yuki's point, not only do the events in Innocent Sin not occur in the parallel world Eternal Punishment is set in, but the game actually takes place at a different time. Eternal Punishment actually begins months after Innocent Sin would have taken place. It's kind of like a "what if" type retelling of story.

I think that it is a little more complex than that, but I have not looked into Eternal Punishment's story in a long while, and ever since I heard the news about Innocent Sin on the PSP, I have been trying to avoid it to forget spoilers.

Either way, each game is a complete game with its own resolution. Innocent Sin is not half a game, or an incomplete game, and neither is Eternal Punishment. :3

Too much to fit in one game, I think. Or maybe they thought of the second game after the first one was done.

They both take place in the same world, but in no ways is IS only "half" a game. Worry not, it's a complete story, just one that comes with a "what if"/continuation as the others said in the form of Eternal Punishment. They both have enough content to warrant being sold as single titles. ^^

I think some people are confused...Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment are definitely connected, but not to the point where you need to play both games to understand stuff. I can't really explain how they're connected without ruining stuff, but trust me when I say it's more than just a 'what-if'. If you've beaten Innocent Sin, you can kind of guess how Eternal Punishment can be a continuation without *actually* being a direct sequel.
