    Pokemon B-2/W-2

    http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-bl...ite-version-2/

Is this not the greatest thing ever? DS hasn't been left for dead just yet. Nintendo's determined to have it outlive the PSP. Now Vita will be double-teamed by DS & 3DS...

Edit: Hey Capcom the DS market lives! How about AAI2...?

Its an awful idea. They've finally got the 3DS sales going strong, and they're going to fall back to the DS for one of their biggest franchises? Wasted potential if I've ever heard of it.

Unlike Sony where even the psp has stronger sales weeks than the Vita, Nintendo has pretty effectively ended the DS to sell the 3DS.

I still need to play the first black or white, and Heartgold or soul silver... L+:P
Interesting though that they chose to do a sequal instead of a new set of colors. Wonder what it'll be like. New generation of pokemon? Or just continue with what we have. Definitely curious about this one.

edit: I notice now that it says "Version 2" I wonder if it will be like Phantasy Star Online version 2 for dreamcast, where itwas essentially the same game, but with more features. Kinda like pokemon yellow/crystal/etc. Though that would be odd with the name they gave this ones. I guess we'll see!

The 3DS can play DS games whereas the same can't be said for Sonys system! Is it good business to sell to a hundred million or just 15 million? Obviously there is a point where its time to move on, but I was never really satisfied with the DS ending in 2011. It felt like it had been abandoned all to soon much like the GBA and GBC in the past. I'd like for handhelds to not be dropped instantly when their successor is near or out unlike consoles.

All main Pokemon games have always had "Version" in their titles D: And what do you mean you haven't played HG/SS or B/W yet? If you already have them then hop to it. Great games!

Having the newest Pokemon games on 3DS would have sold systems, which in tern would have meant more long-term profits. Plus the DS has had serious piracy issues for a long time now eating into any potential sales.

GBC was just an extension of the original Gameboy (like the GBA/GBASP/GBAMicro or DS/DSLite/DSi/DSXL) which was sold at retail for 14 years (1989-2003), I certainly wouldn't say it was abandoned too soon.

Oh yeah, you're right. I dunno how I forgot about them having all having "version" in the titles... guess its been awhile since I played Pokemon (not since diamond). I don't have HG/SS or B/W yet, but really do wanna get at least Heart Gold at some point

Sounds like this is a sequel to Black and White...getting real hyped. Infact...I am hoping it is, might be more interesting than having a 3rd version that completes the rather incomplete feel that B/W's story gave, too many loose ends. After the day I've had this news is really soothing to my ears.

MY GOD I WISH. We can only hope that our wishes for this game haven't fallen to deaf ears. Its not like the fan-translation will ever get done after all.

I was hopelessly hoping for Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald remake since I was in an ANGSTY COOL YOUNG TEENAGER PHASE when those came out and didn't play them, but this is fine too. I am a giant tool for Pokemon so of course I'll get it.

Huh. These certainly have potential. I must say I'm slightly disappointed that they're not going with the traditional third version, but it's an interesting idea. I wonder if there will still be a third version eventually. Although, I suppose both of these take the place of the third version (or maybe they're both completely new games, which would be really interesting). Definitely gonna keep my eye out for news about these.

Not sure how I feel about it being on the DS, though. Sure, right now the DS reaches a much larger audience, but Pokemon games are always system-sellers, and I think putting these games on the 3DS would give them much more long-term sales.

Nintendo have said that they would continue supporting the NDS. Developer Game Freak, a strong Nintendo follower, is currently working on two NDS games in the form of Pokemon x Nobunaga's Ambition and Pokemon Black Version 2 and White Version 2. Also, let's not forget about the American version of Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 and the newly announced European version of Inazuma Eleven 2 Firestorm and Blizzard.
