Homage to Nobuo Uematsu, the composer behind The Last Story.

Many of you know Nobuo Uematsu as the genius behind the Final Fantasy series' soundtrack (up to 9, anyway). Well he also composed the soundtrack for The Last Story, which is a great thing. I personally haven't listened to it because I don't want to spoil it for myself, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.

At any rate, I whipped up a little something in his honor to time it with Operation Rainfall's "The Last Story month". Unfortunately, copyright rules mean I shouldn't link to the original songs, so instead I just looked up some great YouTube covers that I thought did justice to his soundtracks.

    Here it is.

    Hope you guys like it

Anyway, I like these forums, they look really nice and there's some very cool folk, too.

Nobuo Uematsu makes a few of the best OSTs in all gaming world! The only OST I love and was not dealt by Nobuo was NieR's OST.

That youtube video is amazing. It really shows just how incredibly talented people can be. Anyway, I just wanted to pay my respects to Nobuo Uematsu. I saw him at Distance World last summer and the guy just seems really fun and down-to-earth. It was an honor just to see the man on stage. I think he will always be remembered for his sweeping melodies and epic tunes, and for being able to compose music that truly feel like they walk hand in hand with the games they were made for.

I hadn't seen this yet. He's not my favorite composer, might come close to the top 5, but that's a great video. Really like FF6's soundtrack, one of his highlights.

Ah, yeah, I personally think FF6 is his greatest followed by Lost Odyssey. Just in general though, I've been enjoying his music pretty much all my life.

I love Nobuo Uematsu, and I think his best works are between FF VI to FF VIII. But my most preferred composer is Yasunori Mitsuda ; P

Ah, yeah, Mitsuda has some great stuff as well(Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears). I think the latest full soundtrack he did was for Arc Rise Fantasia. Didn't he pretty much learn from Uematsu when he first started his career back in the good old days of Square Soft though? I thought I read that about him while looking up his info one time. Anyway, as I was saying, he's fantastic as well. I just think Uematsu has been consistently doing great work for a much longer period of time.

I do like a lot of stuff he does, but BEST vgm composer?
Yoko Shimomura and Shoji Meguro (edit: and Yasunori Mitsuda~) tend to have the most consistently excellent soundtracks for me.
Nobuo does a lot of music that sound a bit too similar-ish.
