Went ahead and preordered even though I'll probably cancel and step up to the Premium Edition when it gets announced. Depends on what's included and if it's the standard $10 premium.

I am going to wait until I have a little bit of extra spending cash to pre-order; I'd also rather know if the game has an LE or not before pre-ordering, just because I can be pretty bad at changing my pre-orders (does not help that I have to go a city over to get to a decent GameStop).

I like being able to only put $5 down a Gamestop but that's the only thing that really keeps me from preordering at amazon. Gamestop tends to carry popular titles and even though it is a store that specializes in video games, their selection can be limited and their employees often only know about CoD. The other month I bought Ys I&II LE there and the contents of the LE box were behind the counter, and the employee sloppily shoved the contents into the box and started to ask me what the game was and he'd never heard of it. I know that a lot of people don't know certain series like that, but not a single employee has a clue. The employees at mine are all highschoolers that only know about Skyrim and CoD. It just irks me that it is such a big chain that is pretty much the only place that specifically sells games and often times they don't know what they're talking about. I guess if you pre-order there you can have a decent amount of confidence, but I've gotten preordered things that weren't sealed from them before as well, I just wish they'd take better care of their merchandise.
Well to be fair, a lot of the people who would be knowledgeable about games aren't actually hired there. I tried to get a job there on my weekends because I like games so much and they probably figured I was yanking their chain. The devil is in the details when you're talking about stores with people earning roughly the minimum wage. But I mean why would your typical employee care about a game that's just going to end up sitting on the shelf at GameStop for months when GameStop will be pushing for more sales of the current flavor of the moment game?
I understand, I don't blame them, I just wish there was more video game chains that maybe had a little more variety. Local shops usually don't have distributor rights to offer games for preorder. All I'm saying is that Gamestop doesn't really care all that much about a consumer or games as long as it's profitable. Which isnt unlike many businesses. I just hate being asked if I want to preorder CoD or another game I don't care about as try to search through the mountain of sticker covered cases to find anything in their dwindling JRPG and PSP collection.
I know how you feel SIN its rather easier on my side for various reasons but I keep hating the fact they keep asking me if I want to buy CoD or Mortal Kombat, shooter games etc. When they start talking about that I quickly try to change the subject and leave or I tune out and go on a journey and then leave.

I have one GameStop I give my business to, because they consistently have awesome service and actually recommend me games based on what they know I like. (It doesn't hurt that they're two blocks away from my apartment, so I'm in there a lot.) They'll be seeing me soon for Xenoblade and Last Story preorders.![]()
