Ys Store and Suggestion

I would recommend starting with Oath in Felghana as well. Its really just the bee's knees! Although I do own Ys 1 + 2 on four different platforms, so I would agree that it is an excellent game as well.

I'm going to get Oath in Felghana tomorrow after work. I'm leaning towards getting it at gamestop because I still have $30 left on my card. Does buying from gamestop or the xseed store make a diffrence, like better for the company wise?

See, I've always been of the opinion that it's easier to appreciate Ys I & II after you've already developed an attachment to the series. If you play it first, it becomes the benchmark from which you judge every other Ys game -- whereas if you're already an Ys fan, you'll play Ys I & II and be able to place them more in context, getting an idea of what the series was like back then, how it's evolved over the years, etc., which may help you appreciate them more than you could've if they were your first Ys titles.

All depends on your point of view, though. Personally, I love every Ys game, so it's hard for me to give advice... I just don't want to see people judge the series unfairly, and with Ys I & II being so different from modern Ys games, it's hard for me to recommend them as a starting point.

We've discussed this before, and I definitely agree to a point. However, a lot of the people on these forums are niche jrpg pioneers. Playing Seven first won't hurt though, I just think VI needs republished or something, or hopefully the steam thing works out for it. Not many newcomers to the series are going to be able to pick this up just anywhere.

So turns out gamestop doesn't have anymore copies close to my location. I'm going to try the digital download way.

So I'm pretty darn excited to try out Ys now and I just got it digitally (Hopefully xseed still benefits) and It's 783Mb! Holy cow that's huge but not really worried right now and it's going to take roughly an hour to DL. Wish me luck

Hope you enjoy it! It's one of my top ten favorite video games of all time. I love every second of it... and am even IN it, briefly!
