    More info

So do you guys know if this game is going to be PSN only, how much it will cost, or an approximate release date? Im really curious.

Im getting a Vita and this is one of the few games that appeal to me at the moment. The others are New Little King's Story, Little Deviants and Gravity rush.

Also, this game appears to have Japanese culture influence. Will this game help me learn a little more about Japanese culture a little bit?

Can't answer your first few questions, since we haven't officially announced availability, pricing or an exact release date yet. All that's been announced so far is that it's a launch window game, and will thus probably be released sometime in March.

As for your last question... no, it really won't. (: Its story is pretty universal, as is its gameplay. It does have Japanese culture influence, but that only really manifests itself in the character names and in the aesthetics (both art and music). Everything else is more ACTION GAME than it is JAPANESE GAME.

Do you know if the game will have a manual? I just saw an unboxing of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and I'm really disappointed that Sony didn't put anything in the case (other than the game of course). It's not gonna be a deal-breaker, but I was just curious.

All that was written for Sumioni is an in-game manual (the Japanese release has no physical manual included in the case), and we typically don't produce manuals from scratch (instead opting to edit the existing Japanese)... so while I can't say for sure one way or the other, I wouldn't count on getting a physical manual with the game. Sorry!

Ah, if there was none with the Japanese release, then there isn't anything to be done. Thanks for the quick reply.

I dunno, Ys IV is Falcom. I'm willing to bet that even if there's no manual in the case, it'll probably come with a huge art book + manual or something in Japan. I mean, this is the company that shipped all launch units of Ys: The Oath in Felghana on PC with *8 music CDs* and all launch units of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim on PC with *all five previous Ys games*, so they have a bit of a history of including insanely awesome bonuses with their games.

I guess with the move to more expensive cartridges, they had to drop the previously-most-expensive part of the packaging - the manual. If first party games aren't including them it's probably going to be pretty standard. Ah well, I never read those anyway.
