Hi all, i have a suggestion. I got an idea to make this thread more stronger to convince the localization. We can actually make a list of people who are confirmed to buy the game once it released.Make some picture of proof by a group of people who really want it to happen. I think it is more effective & bring more attention not only to the publisher but attracts more user to see this thread. Just my opinion. Thank you.

Of course not, but each type of game has different expectations.

First Person Shooters can be linear, use heavily standardized mechanics/controls, and take less then 5 hours to beat in single player, just so long as the multiplayer is fun and the (often short) single player has top notch production values.

JRPGs require a good story/interesting characters, ie things the industry is notoriously bad at creating. Huge and diverse worlds (plus massive soundtrack to go along with it), something that is exceptionally expensive to produce. And a unique battle system with self contained game play mechanics beyond those found in the rest of the title (assuming we're talking turn based).

JRPGs aren't popular like they once were because after a while they simply became too expensive to produce with all the qualities people wanted out of them. After a while most fans just gave up on the whole genre because its titles just couldn't keep pace with their expectations anymore.

I think thats a bit presumptuous to assume that every one thinks that way. A lot of people also played jrpgs in the past, because the console rpg scene in the west was severely lacking. But now you've got all your big sellers like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, and to a certain extent Fallout. Seems to me that its more a matter of aesthetics than anything.
Currently Playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Digimon Adventure, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed

Games Beaten in 2013: 8: Retro Game Challenge, Corpse Party 2U, Code of Princess, Dark Souls, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Atelier Meruru, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Liberation Maiden

Indeed, but I'm not saying that everyone thinks that way, just a lot of people do. And I already said that different genres have different expectations. Western rpgs do not = japanese rpgs in either mechanics or asthetics.

Fallout is an open world first person shooter with rpg elements, and Mass Effect is a 3rd person shooter with rpg elements. So neither of those makes much sense as a comparison, otherwise the conversation devolves into "Everythings with any semblance of plot is an RPG" and all views become mute. Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls are valid points of discussion though for comparison.

Hi all. I'm a long time Neogaf member and Xseed fan and saw this thread linked and decided to register and show my support for RO. If RO was localized I would purchase it on day 1 and be glad to have it. Keep up the great work Xseed and thanks for being awesome.

Is Xseed the only ones who localize these things? Have we reached out to anyone else, or to the company who made the game themselves?

Usually, they localize the text and send it back to the developers to make the programming. The developers are aware of this topic, as they've posted that comment on Twitter last month.

I think I might make a drinking game out of how fast threads derail.

Nothing really, I think you saw that message from GameArts Twitter, right? That's the only news, other than XSEED saying they'll be working with a Vita game from a franchise they've already worked with.
