Actually, the top left of the map is part of the Temperate Ocean believe it or not. The sailfish is extremely common. You can find it anywhere in the temperate or tropical oceans. #1 and #4 baits seem to attract it fairly frequently.

The sailfish is WAY to common. -_- I regret releasing it.
Oh well, I had two good days. :3 I caught the Tidur River and Malam Jungle legend (which I thought I had already...) in the same ingame day. :3 Today I managed to catch the Goblin Shark finally, as well as three more ocean fish (Sword Fish, Pacfic Blue Marlin, and... something surely not rare).
Only 164 fish caught, not sure if that includes the special fish or not. I have all the land fish, now time to just overfish the ocean, and the two islands. :3

My total fish count has risen to 169, and my S Rank count has risen to 52. I got the S Ranks for the Smallmouth Bass, Wels Catfish, Pacfic Bluefin Tuna (on my first time) and Oilfish (also on my first time, right after the Tuna). Having some trouble finding where exactly the frigid ocean is... I started trolling directly above the top tip of the island, and I only got Temp fish (like above), and it directed me to the western island. Seems like the entire Northwestn region is Temperate. :/
Also, glad to see you back Philia. :3 I felt a little sad when I was about the only one here.

Hi~Dusty Starr,
I have played the game for 183 gamedays in total and caught 194 species of gamefish, which means that only the extincted species and 2 dwnloaded fish haven't been caught, but I can't not unlock the whale shark,do you think I need to increase the amount of caughts in each species or complete the whole diary to unlock it?
Going after white sturgeon, and hyneria, you talked about tug and reel and something about blocks. What exactly are you talking about and can you describe exactly how to catch these fish all the time?
For Philia
The whale shark, if I remember, needs to be spotted in a Submarine tour. I assume one from Termen Paradise Beach. But I know for a fact that it comes from seeing it in a tour; it says so in the in game award list (under misc).

I THINK it's Temen Paradise's tour as well... I know I unlocked a lot from there, but it's been a while since I played my copy. ^^;; So yeah, go ahead and do the tours. Also, if you're just not getting it but you're sick of staring at the screen, what I did was like....let the game run while I made a sandwich or something for myself. xD IIRC, you don't have to click/take photos for it to be "spotted," right? Just have it appear?

I'm thinking that you're very young or English isn't your first language. So I'm going to try to describe it very basic and clear as possible for you.
Block, verb use, like in a FIGHTING GAME (NOT NOUN) = Imaginary boundary area left and right of your BOAT. NOT NORTHWEST OR NORTHEAST OR NORTH OF YOUR VIEW, this is where your camera shows you, boat, water, land and your fish. When I say block the fish, you MUST make sure the fish is inbetween YOU/BOAT and the shoreline.
In between = Middle, center of the area.
Shoreline = Beach, line of sand, start of land from water.
YOU/BOAT = Your character on screen, avatar, boat as in canoe, boat, kayak, yellow/blue/white floating water vehicle.
If you take massive offense from my post, my apologies for not offering better reading comprehension. -.-'
And by the way, this method above only applies to Hyneria anyway. White Sturgeon did appear close to the shoreline once or twice for me but its not worth the hassle searching for it when its more likely appearing in the middle of the lake anyway.
