Yeah, I have but maybe you should have someone else check their S-ranks too just to make sure this isn't only true for me.

What about all the other fish in the Kerikil river? I've caught a number of trout species in the upper river.

I'm wondering if one of the fish doesn't count toward total completion. If you have caught every fish, the common award counter stops at 203. There are 204 non-special fish (12 specials, which make 216 altogether). This means one of 2 things: either the counter doesn't increment on the very last catch, or one of the fish isn't counted for some reason. I'm really hoping this applies to the S-rank award as well.

Hey Philia, would you mind seeing if you are one S-rank short? You have more fish than I do, so your number should be able to tell me whether my game is messed up or not.

Ooooh. Its very possible that Pond Smelt doesn't count. But I'll count my S rank by hand. Hang on.

Yep, I'm one short and I'm pretty sure its the Pond Smelt. I had to take care not to count the specials like Rock Bass or Electric Eel which I already S ranked some ages ago.

I also could double check with my fresh profile save to actually fish a S rank Pond Smelt and watch if the S rank tally would change.

I just double-checked. I think I somehow miss-counted earlier. I'm also short one fish so I think you're alright Keaton.

I have not S ranked the pond smelt yet, but my s count is accurate minus the special fish, which I finally just caught the last fish species in the game. I still have not got the lost a fish for the 100th time award yet, so not true to real life fishing.

I got that award a long time ago lol. I lost so many fish on purpose in trolling (especially oilfish!)

Guys, thanks alot for the reassurance. I was seriously debating whether to continue playing or not. Still no 2nd S-grunt yet, but I refuse to leave until it happens again.
