Sure as heck isn't a top seller...
It doesn't have to be a top seller to survive.
Like I said, I don't know what XSeed looks at to break even, they seem to work under a nice small staff, and make the best out of resources to delivery some awesome underdog games. Even if a system doesn't need to be a best seller, a game needs to a hit a quota. If the PSP is dying because people have sold off their system or are moving on, that's a big deal. Yes, the PSP has an awesome library.... mostly in Japan, not in North America (damned shame). My question is what sort of sales figures does XSeed look for, and especially what they might know, being in the industry of gaming, in regards to what sort of sales figures do their titles need and how (again, from industry perspective) does the PSP climate look.
I don't think it's any coincidence that a lack of PSP releases has to do with it "actually being popular". :P
Personally, I'm putting my future stocks in the PSVita.

I agree with everything you say and I was discussing this same subject with Pringles these past days, but XSEED is comfortable with the portable market and they've been doing just well with that situation. They'll eventually release games for the PS3, 360 and Wii, but as long as they're surviving only with the portable market, I won't complain, as I'm happy either way.
Seeing as problems persist with a PSN release, the dying or arguably dead PSP in the west (to some), and the oncoming release of the Vita, a PC version seems likely in my eyes. However, I definitely agree with the sentiments about a limited print run of a physical release. I can't see myself playing on PC, and I need another wonderful box so Trails 1 won't be so lonely on the shelf anymore... Anyways, no matter what happens, my love of XSEED will remain steadfast.
Not on the US, but everywhere else in the world, Brazil included, the PS1 and PS2 were on the top among the most pirated platforms. In Brazil, people only began to buy original games because it took years for someone to break a PS3.
i kinda want a PC release (even re-release #1), just so I can play it on a bigger monitor than the PSP screen.
I personally don't care much WHAT platform it comes out on, as long as it's a physical release, lol...i feel proud owning Trails, i won't feel so proud owning Second Chapter in digital format.
