I didn't think Ragnarok DS was awful. I played the MMORPG since it was in the Alpha stages and have very fond memories of it all. When I picked up Ragnarok DS, it filled me with nostalgia and I had a very good time with it. The music was a little bit underwhelming but the game-play of RagnarokOnline is there.

I'm a huge fan of Ragnarok Online, it's probably my favorite game of all time. Heck, I play it almost daily!

Unfortunately, though, I really, really, reeeeally didn't like Ragnarok DS. I actually think it's one of the worst Japanese RPGs I've played, no joke. Still, though, I beat the game twice, once on the Japanese version, and once after it was localized. I probably wouldn't have even touched it if it weren't for my intense love of RO. It had a buttload of problems (that I don't want to get into right now, it'd be a wall of text), but I can't totally hate it, since it is, after all, RO, and I liked the idea of there actually being a story in the RO world, no matter how cheesy, generic and cliched it was. I'll give it that much, since the PSP and Vita games seem to be having increasingly less (decreasingly?) to do with RO.

One other gripe I had with Ragnarok DS was the spotty translation. Not saying the translation itself was bad (since I know virtually no Japanese,) but there was already an established English name for most of the things, like Phreeoni instead of Frione, and I'm pretty sure Alberta is the "City of Merchants," not Morroc. Then there were a few pointless, half-implemented name changes which led to things such as "Bat" dropping "Familiar Card," (not to mention my "favorite" laugh-inducing one...Ice Pick to Stabber!) Not really a big deal at all, when you think about it. Still, though, it irks me.

With all due respect, you're an idiot. >=/
I actually feel this way to anyone who *forces* themselves to play a (sometimes) 60-hour RPG just "to finish it". I never understood that mentality, even as a fan of some series' with some crap titles scattered throughout their releases, if a game sucks, I don't play it.

To each their own, I guess.

Criticism is one thing, I'm sorry some parts weren't up to par for you as a fan -- stuff like that IS disappointing. And yeah, I agree, the game was none too hot... it was all cold and bitter.
