Overall, I thought it was a very fun game. The story and cast of characters are both pretty good, the battle system is fun and tightly balanced, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. The translation is good, too (of course, it's XSEED!), and there's a lot of extra content in the game to keep you occupied when you're done with the main story.

As far as down sides to the game go, I don't think it does a very good job of establishing the setting early on. The Veruni and their relations with humans are the core of the plot, but you don't really learn what the Veruni are like, about their history, or really see what the interaction between them and humans is like until a fair ways into the game. I also thought the ending was pretty weak; a lot of deus ex machinas come out of nowhere, and it doesn't wrap up some of the plot threads in ways I would have liked.

Overall, though, definitely a fun game.

Um.....the music in the town with the orphans sounds like a song from Final Fantasy VII
