What's a tertiary stat? Saber smash!

Yeah, a bit of rooftop swooping with Archer wouldn't have gone amiss for example.

I wonder if you were being too clever with your servant's stats. I made the assumption that equal points into Strength and Defence and nothing else would be very effective, which was depressingly the case. Probably the same is true for Archer. NG Caster though might require some kind of firing of braincells. Probably the early game would be quite brutal if you don't put some points into defence and strength, but then how much are you gimping yourself for when you (presumably) get lots of cool spells later? Like yourself, I'm going to get back to it, but I think I will definitely have a go at NG Caster next.

Thanks, I think it's fun and well-made enough to escape from being called a cash-in although obviously there's so many ways it could be bigger and better.

I actually already finished the Rin route with Saber (i'm off sick so could engage in a bit of a marathon). Frankly, I think Saber makes the game a bit too easy, even without any grinding beyond an arena door-to-door each day. Particularly near the end, if you have some elixirs, there's no need to even see what spoiler Gawaine and Saviour are supposed to do! My epic final duel consisted of spamming Thunderous Applause until the Noble Phantasm came up to finish it. I didn't think level 37 was THAT broken... Maybe a first playthrough with Archer might be more interesting. Have you finished the game with all the servants now?

Unsurprisingly, I bought the game. I'm only in the middle of saber's route, but I think the combat system works quite well. So long as you assume that any unknown actions go against you and pre-emptively heal accordingly, I don't see any reason to talk about it being "luck-based". The servant duels are also awesome. ^^ I wonder if archer and caster might be a bit more frustrating in terms of suddenly getting gimped through bad luck.

Hey, thanks for your impression on Fate/Extra. I have learned to be somewhat sceptical about many reviews trumpeting the same problem as I suspect they often just parrot each other. I'm probably now leaning slightly towards a purchase, though my Command Seals haven't materialised just yet!
