The news may have stopped, but Japan is still suffering. The damage that the nuclear plant at Fukushima Daiichi sustained last spring is only now becoming apparent.
The first comprehensive soil survey from areas around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant showed extensive ground contamination and another report warned of the continued threat to Japan's food chain, underscoring the major challenges the country still faces in its radioactive cleanup efforts.

Also, radioactive materials have been detected in urine of 10 children living in the affected area.

I'm sure that there are many people out there praying and doing whatever they can to help Japan in its time of crisis. We all love Japan so please help in any way possible.

I donated to the Red Cross twice.

At least with Japan the money isn't going to end up in the hands of some feudal warlord, like in much of Africa. That's half the problem.

That's half the problem.sucks for japan that this tragedy happened to them.but unfortunately, there's nothing that they cant do about it since the country lies within several geological faults.so, they are bound to have a big or a bigger one sooner or later..as for the aid,its nice to see ppl like you contributing to ease the pain and suffering of others, thank you for that!

as for the radiation i think that there's little that they can do about it.since is already out?my fear is that if this thing spreads further then the cancers and other illnesses will jump through the roof..and since japan is a chain of islands then i dont know if there's enough relocation space for the people since for example tokyo is overcrowded as it is,no?

It'll be tough for sure, but this is the country that survived Hiroshima and Nagasaki and ended up turning into a technological giant over the years. As far as space is concerned, there's so much of it up in Hokkaido that isn't populated that if necessary they could fit plenty of people into.
