Well I want to say thanks for localizing that games, they're great and I was waiting for a long time to play Ys Seven and TitS in english. Thank you very much
I must also give my thanks to all of you for your great localizations.
Without your partnership with Falcom, only a few of us importers/avid Falcom fans would have been able to play these games, let alone in English.
Thanks for introducing them to a new generation of fans :D
Also, you're as awesome as ever, Wyrdwad (:
Keep up the good work!

This post has made me realise that Trails in the Sky rivals Fate Unlimited Codes for worst initials ever Tits vs BACONBACONBACON

Ys and TitS...I'm grateful for XSEED for bringing them over, but when put this way, it sounds like some sort of perverted English meal.
Like fish and chips, but...worse.

Jokes aside, I'm really grateful too. I can't let go of my PSP, too addicted to Trails

Thank you for bringing over what so many others have passed up and doing an amazing job as well! It has been a very long time since I've gone through such a spectrum of emotions while playing a game. Can't wait to see what else will be coming from XSeed~! ;)

So I'm reading the title for this thread and I'm like what in the actual BACON!? Tits?!?
Then I learned it was an abbreviation, my bad.
Anyway, yeah I'm grateful for the localisation of Ys!

TitS and LoLS, XSeed knows what we want:o
And Ys as well, of course!
Ys and Trails, PSP life doesn't get much better than that :)

I remember listening to track after track from the Ys series and other Falcom games, asking myself if the games would make it over here.
Fast forward to today, and I'm now working my way through Ys II.
Thank you so much for bringing Ys and TitS over here.

Pitching in my thanks, too - had you not translated them and released those fantastic limited editions, I probably wouldn't have ever gotten into Ys and Falcom! You guys are really great. Now we've got a great forum community here too.

While I've only just started Ys Seven, I've got to thank you guys from bringing over such a collection of Falcom games. I realize how big a risk you guys are taking (more so with TitS than Ys), and rest assured it is appreciated.

I'll also pop my head in here and give thanks for localizing Trails In The Sky, i'm a big fan of the Legend of Heroes games (Tear of Vermillion in particular) and while Moonlight Witch was a bit lame IMHO, the only thing these RPGs had messed up was the abysmal translation. I was a bit worried with Trails in The Sky, but barely a few minutes in and i knew it was properly done this time.
I'm almost done with the game and i'm eager to hear news for the rest of the trilogy ^.^

Moonlight Witch is one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and my favorite Legend of Heroes game.
In Japanese, anyway.

White Witch is so good that it even managed to move me in broken English. Too bad those-bums-at-a-company-other-than-XSEED also chopped out the anime intro... selling the import version was a mistake!

That was such a great anime intro, too, wasn't it? Tear of Vermilion and Song of the Ocean had better intros in their Windows versions, but Moonlight Witch's Japanese PSP intro was GORGEOUS, and easily surpassed the Windows version IMHO.
Windows version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GcEdX93ckc
J-PSP version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO18E2nYpB0
You know what had an even *better* intro, though? The Japanese Sega Saturn version of Moonlight Witch!
Saturn version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_GJ9RT2Gfw
I would've bought a Saturn for that game, back in the day. Such a shame it never got an English release! Not that it would've sold well, but still. (:

Grrr. I really get irritated by the bashing of Bandai. Their translations were no worse than virtually any RPG from the SNES-PS1 era. Good? No. But not near as bad as all the complaining implies...
And they brought over the entire trilogy, something that Xseed has yet to do. No offense, but I'm sure sales weren't exactly stellar for them, and they went ahead anyway. Granted, being at a big company, they were in a position to, but still, they didn't have to. And they fixed the loading problems in the Japanese version of Moonlight Witch for the NA release (why it was the 2nd game...).

I had to register just so I could add my thanks as well. I was pleasantly surprised by Trails in the Sky as I was not the biggest fan of the other games from the series that were brought over. I really hope Xseed intends to bring over the rest of the chapters because I would definitely buy them.
Not only am I super happy to FINALLY play an RPG with a female lead (a good one at that who is NOT a mage and useless for anything but healing), I also like that the characters are all so charming and the dialogue is fantastic. You did a stellar translation job and you are hitting all of the right buttons with me. I loved Ys Seven and the Oath in Felghana and I eagerly look forward to the next game you decide to bring out.
Thanks again and please keep up the good work.

Er, I need to choose my words carefully here... so I'm just going to quote A Tear of Vermilion, once again:
"I didn't have eaten a unusual today."
I *dare* you to find a worse line in any English-language SNES or PS1 game. ;)

Robotrek had a pretty bad translation too, but it was nowhere near the level that was the first Bandai Namco LoH translation. There are books that make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER due to the translation. If XSEED put out games that had Babelfish level of translation, they'd probably have the whole series out by now, but I'd rather the series be done right and have minimal errors than to have a textbook example of Engrish out of control. The other two LoH translations improved markedly (by the point the last one was almost good!), but after the first, there pretty much was nowhere to go but up.

I probably could find something similarly awful from Breath of Fire 2, although that was just as infamously bad.
Really, the Gagharv PSP games were top-tier awful. Even being comparable to BoF2 is a bad thing.

You'll have to do better than that. That line makes sense and is grammatically correct. It's WEIRD, sure... but it's not WRONG.
(Well, it's WRONG, but more in the metaphysical sense... if you get me.) ;)

Classic Tear of Vermillion lines, episode 34:
"He is not the kind of person who can walk out of a girl who can use his help and keep on a journey."

You think that's bad English, but it's really a Freudian example of how a child emerges from the womb and immediately emerges a teenager with heroic aspirations.
Probably.

Now we know why Adol never seems to have any interest in the females who wander in and out of his life...

Is not like Adol doesnt have any interest in women, he just like to make them fall in love and leave them... that is a feeling Adol like, like his fetish o.o... after 7 games, this should be clear xD

Well, at least it kind of made sense for poor Feena. Really, I always imagine Adol+Lilia to be a bit of a crush sort of thing, but that's probably just me. Regarding Elena... Well, I really like pairing her with Adol, and it would be awesome to see how badass she becomes now that she's grown up a little since the events in Felghana~
I mean, seriously! It really says something if Falcom decides to have Elena wear her badass outfit as a Ys vs. Sora Support Character. Of course, I think they still insist that details like that are under wraps.
Anyways, XSEED! Thanks for bringing over Oath in Felghana! Thanks for introducing me to what is now one of my absolute favorite bosses ever!
And TitS! Although, I can't say much because I'm a derp that hasn't finished the Prologue!

TiTS is the first RPG I've enjoyed since Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Recent one's have so many flashy graphics, but no characters with any charm (Olivier <3) and stories that have you thinking about them even when you're not playing.
I really hope you release SC on UMD format though, because I hate it when game trilogies are spread across consoles. (I like to line up the boxes side-by-side and sit staring at them for hours).
On a side note, I'm enjoying Zero no Kiseki, but my Japanese isn't good enough to understand all of it, (I'm looking up a Kanji in virtually every box of text, so it's going slow) so if you localized *that*, I'd be overjoyed.
Mathematical formula: Xseed+Falcom>Square Enix :)
Thanks again for all your hard work, and for pricing the games affordably :)

I've posted in this topic and didn't even say thanks, so I feel kind of lame. I am absolutely grateful that you brought/are bringing these Falcom games over, and I hope that continues (sounds like it should, too!). And of course I'm looking forward to other things you decide to localize, but that's not really related to the topic at hand.
You guys have totally turned me into a Falcom fan though, and I doubt I'm the only one. That must have been Tom's maniacal plan the whole time.

This, pretty much exactly, for me. Playing through these Ys games (beat Oath, Seven, and just started Chronicles) has made me want to see what else they've done. I want to pick up Trails in the Sky, check out the Xanadu series, everything. Thanks Xseed!

I really love how you guys did localize Trails in the Sky. All the conversations seem so lively and its a breeze to read them.
I remember quitting The Legends of Heroes II because I found the dialogues boring and not very well made, but you guys really did a great job. A big thanks to the translators! Now i know whats good about the Legend of Heroes Series!

I have to thank you for the awesomeness of being able to play Trails in the Sky. :')
One of my favorite games of all time for sure.
And thanks to it, I became a big fan of Falcom and you. Damn epicness. ¬¬
Now I'm looking for every single chance to promote the game and all the other ones you release (though TitS comes first always for this fanboyism of mine), like Corpse Party, the Ys series, Solatorobo and Ivy the Kiwi?. The last two being games I really liked to play and Ys being one that I really liked, but that I have yet to play in depth. ^^
