"Marvelous Entertainment is working on a followup to Wii's Little King Story, and it's for PlayStation Vita. This week's Famitsu has first details on the game, whose Japanese name translates to "The King, The Demon King and the Seven Princesses: New King Story."

Only a few bits and pieces have leaked out of the magazine at present. It appears that the game will have love elements, along with new visual stylings for its characters. The magazine also reveals that Konami will be the game's publisher."

I honestly don't know. I'd love to see XSEED pick it up, they did a phenomenal job with the first but I'm not 100% sure how great it sold, despite being pretty well received. It's nice to hear the Vita is getting some pretty strong titles, if anything could solidify my purchase of the system it sure as hell would be a Little King's Story sequel. Kinda weird that Marvelous is handing it off to Konami for publishing duty in Japan though. Hopefully XSEED swoops in and gets it for us here in the west!

And if you own a Wii, you should most definitely play the first. It's got really great gameplay, a whole lot of content, and it's one of XSEED's absolute funniest games in my opinion. It's pretty cheap on Amazon.com nowadays, and more than worthy of a purchase. If you need further convincing, I leave you this NSFW video...

To tell the truth, when I first saw the graphics for this game I was disappointed. I enjoyed the bright and colorful graphics of the Wii version since it gave more of an impression of the toy-like atmosphere of the game, but now it doesn't really look all that special. Nonetheless I'll still buy it if XSEED releases it since I'm a big fan of the original LKS and look forward to seeing what will be included with this version.

I don't tend to buy games during their initial release (or for full retail price for that matter), but I think this would be a day 1 purchase for me, as well as a main contributing factor for buying a Vita sooner, rather than waiting for a price drop and/or upgraded version later.

Looks sooooooooo freaking good... And while I loved the old cutesy art style, I'm really enjoying everything I've seen for the new look. I'm really happy this is getting another release and am sure the touch screen will be extremely useful in selecting troops and what not. The Vita is looking mighty good lately!

LKS for Wii is really an underrated gem. I think over time more people became aware of it through word of mouth, but it really flew under the radar for a lot of folks for quite a while. I would imagine this one would do much better now that the brand has been established with such a quality title.

Are there any updates? I'm really looking forwards to this for the Vita. I played it once at a friends house but didn't get very far into it. I'm hoping to own it on the Vita.

It's getting released this month in Japan, sometime this year in Europe, and no news about North America.

Do you know if the EU release will also cover Australia? They often release together.

You could always import, as the Vita's region-unlocked, but if you were to buy the game on the European PSN Store, you wouldn't be able to play the game on another account but the one you bought the game from. I don't know it Australia will be covered, that's a detail that the european publisher, Konami, haven't published yet.

Nah, I'm fairly certain there's a Vita game or two that didn't get a trailer until after release. I know that TOEIC Test thing falls under that, but no one wants that anyways, and marketing isn't going to change it.

According to Media Create it sold 7,141 units first week via retail.

That's better than I anticipated to be quite honest with you, and actually better than Famitsu's report on the first week sales of the Wii game:
