The demo for Final Fantasy Type 0 was just released today. You can download the demo off the Japanese PSN or off the official website (http://www.square-enix.co.jp/fabula/0/download/). If you have already played the demo what are your opinions on it?

I haven't tried the demo yet (planning on giving it a shot later) but I'm excited for the game! I'm more excited for this than I am for Versus XIII.

I gave it a shot last night.

It was... interesting to say the least. Each FF game feels less and less like Final Fantasy to me. Watching the OP movie, as well as the opening cutscene sequence, I had to keep telling myself that I was playing Final Fantasy. It felt like I was watching Japanese Modern Warfare, or something. (also I don't approve of watching chocobos die ;_; )

The camera was pretty terrible and painful to control. Any time I would dash out of the way I had to adjust it with R, and the only way to freely control it is with the d-pad, which means you have to take your thumb off the analog nub which is not good.

So, yeah, wasn't exactly too impressed.

I played the demo this afternoon and I was disappointed by it for many of the reasons you stated. However the visuals of the game actually reminded me a lot of some of the older FF games, with the European architecture and all.

I'm more concerned about the camera than the game "feeling like FF." Assuming it does get released in the west, it should be less of an issue because it's probably not going to be on PSP here.

I don't know if you talk about a released or about a switch of plateform but it's still a ff and as far as I know all ff games always were released in USA and europe

Final Fantasy 2, 3 and 5. FFXII Zodiac edition.

PSP's at the end of it's lifespan in America unfortunately. Also yeah this really isn't an FF game. Square should stop slapping the name onto all the new games but i guess that's what the suits want. As for the camera it sounds like you need to claw it like monster hunter.
