Has anyone played Ys Strategy?

Honestly didn't know this game even existed until this morning. I'm already pondering importing it from europe, even knowing nothing about it, just because it's Ys.

I know it's RTS, but I'm curious to know just how "Ys-y" it is. I'd rather not pick it up if it's just a bland RTS with the Ys title slapped on it.

Has anyone here played it, or know much about it? Care to share any experiences?

like you I don't was even aware of the existence of this game ,I've red the his test on legendra site (BE CAREFUL IT'S WRITTEN IN FRENCH ) and I can say that they don't are nice with it but we all know that nothing is better that to try ourselves a game but this time I have a bad feeling and I will definitively pass this one !

It's supposedly really bad. But I haven't played it myself.

It is indeed very bad. It is Ys in name only, with the main character fighting the Romun somewhere that I don't think has been mentioned in any Ys game yet. Except it's supposed to be an rts where you can take control of Heroes like the MC. But the enemy AI is terrible and the heroes overpowered so you can take control of the hero first thing, walk into the enemy base and slaughter everything

Sure as hell isn't worth any money and it has nothing to do with Falcom. Save your money

I also haven't played this game, surprisingly, but I do know that in most English-speaking Falcom fan circles, it's known as "Ys Tragedy." ;)

From the videos I've watched, it looks like it might be worth a try, but it definitely doesn't seem to be a thing like any of the proper Ys games.

no it's not a cool character design :( but it's only my opinion , it's not adol christin ... it's only an impostor you hear me !! adol hasn't this cold face :( and he don't fight in war he is an adventurer AN ADVENTURER !!!
and what's is this story of the princess of esteria o_0 , she can't surpass lilia or the twins

I remember hearing about this game. I was told it had an awesome anime intro but thats about it. I would think of it like what Square did with Heroes of Mana. You know how that series is action rpg with every title? Heroes of Mana is a major turn around. The lesson here would be: Action RPGs DO NOT work as RTS games.

sorry I exagerated on his face a little but in ys 7 official art ( and on all others arts ) he looks badass but in ys strategy he looks so angry against all ys fans who won't buy the game , it's him who stares into my soul o_0

Well, it's more a matter of budgeting than anything else. I mean, if I'm going to spend the money to import a video game, I might as well import a first-party Falcom release from Japan instead of a third-party DS title from Europe that I keep hearing isn't even very good. ;)

One of these days, though, I'll probably check it out. I don't judge games until I've tried them.

Ys Strategy main character is not Adol, Adol isn't even alive in this time period.

haven't played yet ys 1 and 2 which one if them take place in esteria but it seemed to me that when adol go there there isn't a royal lineage anymore !

I played the game a long time ago and I hate it. The battles are very slow, the controls are not good and the story is bad. The only thing good about the game is the cover and the music. This game is only for people that have a lot of patience.

None, I'm afraid. Nothing beyond what Falcom's announced, anyway. They're being pretty hush-hush about it.

No, it's definitely not. The Ys project they mentioned is something they're developing in-house. Ys Nexus is being developed by a third-party company.

The red-haired swordsman in this game is Abel Renford, and he is exclusive to this game.

This. I beat the whole game easily by using this tactic alone -- it's that broken. Decent music, though.
