Can you believe we're already in July? o_O I wish I were a little kid again so I wouldn't be so aware of time. :P

Anyway, topic~! The games don't need to have been published this year; they just have to have been started and played between January 1st - June 30th. :3 It also doesn't matter if you've beaten the game(s) or not.

In no particular order~~~

inFAMOUS 2

No order here.

1. Tales of Graces
2. Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel
3. Pokemon Black
4. Ys: The Oath in Felghana
5. G-Senjou no Maou
6. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

I feel sorta bad about number 5, since it is a VN, but it was so good that I can't resist putting it there.

That i have played? ok, lets see...

Rogue Galaxy - PS2.
Little Big Planet 2 - PS3.
Baldur's Gate - PC (playing this with a friend currently, having a blast).
Legend of Heroes: Trails in The Sky - PSP - (well...ummm....DUH!).

Dragon Quest IX - DS.

Dark Cloud - PS2 (started last year, but finished this year :p ).
Cheater!

Admittedly, I couldn't think of the 6th game. I just kind of stuck Hot Springs Story in there. XD I thought about putting Vanquish or NIER but realized that both were games I started back in late December and finished in January. :/

1. Hard Corps Uprising (this will probably be my favorite game of the year too)
2. Growlanser VI (import, first game I've played with a translation guide)
3. Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
4. Trails in the Sky
5. Xenogears
6. Threads of Fate

Roughly in order of how much I like them. Only two of those games actually came out this year though. Also, I haven't actually played many more than 6 games anyway.

Ys I&II Chronicles, Pokemon Black, Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection, Resistance, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and I should be finished with Star Ocean: The Last Hope International this weekend.

In no particular order, my favourite games that I've played in the last 6 months are:

1. The Legend of Heroes, Trails in the Sky- Highly immersive and compelling gameworld with strong writing.

2. Mass Effect- The combat doesn't interest me much but the dialogue is awesome. My character is such a heartless BACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACON. :)

3. Digital Devil Saga- I needed a good fix of hardcore dungeon crawling and this is unashamedly an occasionally brutal dungeon crawler with narrative elements.

4. Ys 7- The bosses and soundtrack are amazing. I still have a load of saves just before major bosses and will occasionally dip in when I have 5 minutes to kill. Vacant Interference is likely to be on my playlists for some time...

5. Demons' Souls- Tremendously satisfying action RPG, that I probably put about 300 hours or so into. PvP is pretty unbalanced, but still plenty of fun. Firestorm and 2-1 elevator duels never get old. Actually PvE is pretty unbalanced as well, with melee classes needing to demonstrate a lot more skill than a mage with cloak and a ranged attack, but it's still awesome. So many painful and glorious memories. ;)

6. Wild Arms XF- I don't know why I was quite so hooked on this. The difficulty curve is rather absurdly back to front, but I found the story quite compelling and the soundtrack is certainly superb. One minor point, which I personally think is a huge deal with SRPGs is that XP is shared at the end of the battle. How many SPRGs are there, where you have to carefully arrange your support characters to get the last hit so they don't fall too far behind, instead of just trying to win the mission? Actually being able to just play the game and still be able to develop my characters as I see fit gets many points in my book.

These are gonna be the games that came out in the last 6 months...

Shadows of the Damned: This crazy shooter met my expectations. Great world, funny (Though it's a bit juvenile), fantastic atmosphere, breathtaking music, solid (though a lil' sloppy) gun mechanics, and just crazy.

Pokemon Black: Thought I was done with Pokemon for good. This game was different. Fastest battles, focus on the new pokemon only, and some nice changes made this fun to play, for once. This is probably the best Pokemon is going to get.

Trails in the Skies: FC: Not very far, but THE MUSIC MAN, THE MUSIC. The music alone is worth the purchase.

Arcana Heart 3: I'm embarassed to be even playing it, but the game itself is great. TONS of gameplay mechanics, lots of varieties, gameplay with some depth, and

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together: THIS GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. I usually dislike "moral choices" in video games, because the system usually forces you to either be this baby punching kitten eater, or the hippie who refuses to kill a single living soul "just because", but this game is different. I've never felt such weight from the decisions I made. The gameplay needs some balancing (Ninjas and Archers are amazingly broken. I just use nothing but Ninjas and Archers, HAH) but the music is astounding, characters are memorable, and twists are... Actually surprising. I feel that this is how RPG stories should be. Not this generic anime clique.

Ys 1&2 Chronicles: This game has been remade many times, sure, but this version is IT. The sprites look beautiful, the game is not overly short but not long (I dislike games that go over 15+ hours on single player), and don't get me started on the music.

If there's anything I love about video games, it's the music. If it has well constructed music, or just plain catchy, I'm sure I'll enjoy the game a lot more. Violins and upbeat jBACONBACONBACON songs are even better.

EDIT: What? I wrote j-a-z-z. That's not a swear .___.

Not at all. You can jump into Trails in the Sky just fine, without having to play the previous games.

Cripes, I didn't even have time to play six different games for sufficient evaluative immersion within the last six months to let alone determine favorites. My backlog, however, unfortunately grew by more than six games.

Well, I haven't played much in the last 6 months but here's the top six.

1. Civilization V
2. Assassin's Creed II
3. Skies of Arcadia
4. Total War: Shogun 2
5. Sid Meir's Civilization Revolution
6. Infamous

Haven't played many RPG's lately. Holding out on buying a PSP and waiting for the Vita then I'll get Valkyria Chronicles II, Ys games, and Legend of Heroes trails in the sky.
Looking forward to this holiday season.

Hahaha, that's my dilemma too. Not enough time to play games, but if I did, the odds are I'd have no job that would lead me to get the games either. It's a vicious cycle!

- Radiant Historia. Best game I've played in years.

- Ys [numeral]. Doesn't matter which Ys game, I loved both Chronicles and Seven (Felghana was last year or it'd apply too).

- Gods Eater Burst. Name aside, it's quite an engaging experience.

- Tactics Ogre. Although I haven't even come close to scratching the surface a couple hours in, I can tell the PSP iteration is going to be my favorite strategy RPG ever. It's amazing how a few tweaks of the PSP port make such a significant difference.

- Recettear. Any game that can get me to play 34 hours in a week has to be pretty decent and this is certainly that and more. I have a warped sense of humor so it's right up my alley.

Honestly, everything else has been rather mundane by comparison, though much as black box, my time seems to vanish on me quite frequently...

*-Tactics Ogre. Brilliant game, great system, really good story, real choice, so much content...Best T-Rpg i've ever played (with fire emblem series).

*-Ys Oath In Felghana. Really cool game, I'm not a big fan of A-RPG but really this one was so much to d, will definitely give a chance to Seven after.

*-Solatorobo Red The Hunter. Maybe the last great ds game. A refreshing game.

*-The 3rd Birthday. Ok the story is a total crap but I've enjoyed played it, the game play was really fun and the realisation is insane for the PSP.

*-The Legend of Heroes : Trails in the Sky. Played it 25 hours until I format my memory stick by accident....was so disappointed that I stop it....Anyway I will definitely give it another try cause the game was overall really good (but quite slow).

Don't see much apart of these...

Zelda: Twilight Princess - Probably the second best Zelda game ever made (after OOT)

Okami - One of the best and most artistic Wii games by far.

Rune Factory: Frontier - What can i say about this game other than I love it?

Epic Mickey - This homage to kingdom hearts is probably one of the best platformers on Wii.

Arc Rise Fantasia - Fun rpg, if not a little generic.

Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo - As a dragonball fan, this game was awesome... a big nostolgia trip for me.

You were able to sit through the horrid voice acting?

I'm still thinking about buying this thing but not unless it falls below $10. Otherwise, I'm not going to bother. :3

It's a shame XSEED couldn't have kept it because the game would have turned out so much better then...

I thought the game did well enough on its own to get past the terrible voice acting. Otherwise I wouldn't have spent over 90 hours on it. :P It really was a great game.

I agree with Ryos though. It really is a shame they couldn't keep it. Maybe then the game would have gotten the attention it deserved. D:
