This man (http://www.wltx.com/news/article/138914/2/Update-Pizza-Store-Employee-Killed-Overnight-Identifed) lived just across the street from me. My wife and I looked after his dogs when he was away. While we were not close friends, we got along well.

I don't know what I feel right now.

Killing Mr. Fowler to (presumably) steal whatever money he'd gained in an evening of selling pizzas is just senselessly frightening. We all only get 1 life in reality... Take care of yourself, Deuce.

It's not of the same gravity as such a tragedy, but I've just literally 2 minutes ago been trying to reassure my Uncle (getting on a bit, lives alone so quite vulnerable), as he's just returned to find his doors and windows smashed with most of his stuff stolen. I remember trying to persuade him to install a burglar alarm last time I visited him, so I feel like an idiot for not insisting... What a world we live in.

Holy crap, that's terrible Deuce. Such a senseless act... Hopefully the cops manage to find the killer soon for the sake of the man's family and the rest of the community.

I always worried when I worked retail that I would be taken out by robbers, especially in those awful afterhour shifts at a grocery store. This is doubly tragic because it's not like a pizza employee is exactly going to be rolling in cash. So it's a question of why something like that has to happen. Unfortunately, criminals often don't operate logically, though apparently violent crimes are down right now, which is somewhat puzzling when the economy is as bad as it is in terms of jobs.

Having said all that, this is one of the reasons why I don't tend to be out late at night since that's when something like this is likelier to occur. It's still terrible when it happens, especially when it's someone you know.

And now, I've been interviewed for the 11:00 News. I get that they're trying to put a human face on the story, but it's a little irritating that they have to have a news van basically troll the neighborhood, in hopes of catching some testimonial about someone's life, whom they would have otherwise never even cared about. I only gave the interview, brief as it was, to get them to go away. A nation of voyeurs and vultures, we are.

Rather telling was the fact that he made sure to tell me that it would be on tonight at 11. I guess everyone wants his/her fifteen minutes. I don't. It wasn't my first time in front of a news camera (got interviewed in Japan regarding Fahrenheit 9/11, oddly enough). I just want to be able to deal with this and go on with life.

Oh...oh my goodness. That's horrible...!
I...I don't really know what to say...
Did he live alone?
I hope he's able to rest peacefully. Hopefully the dumbass killer(s) are brought to justice. I mean, what the heck!? They even emptied multiple bullets into his pizza car before shooting him. What was their deal...?

Regardless--
Please, make sure you take care of yourself, Deuce.

Wow that's really terrible Deuce. It's really really sad when things like this happen, especially when it's so close to home. I honestly don't know what to say. Just take care of yourself Deuce and the same to the victim's family and freinds.

I'm no expert in the matter, but aren't pizza delivery people suppossed to carry no more then a certain amount of cash on them?

But anyways, thats just horrible. I'm looking for a job and i don't really care what days or shifts i get, but things like this get me thinking about a getting a late shift sometimes :(

People can get so low sometime... As low as killing for pocket change? What kind of word are we living in?! I wouldn't want to see my face in the News, I would be too scared of retaliation... They went the easy way, like we heard over here, people robbing eldery.

I hope you will feel all right soon, it's kind of depressing and scary to have such an event near home :S

My thoughts go to his family and friend, those who were left behind who have to bear this loss
