So a few sites have said Summer 2012, which would be awesome, mostly because summer is only in a few months. I am waiting for an official release date, but god how i hope it's summer.

Really happy it's been announced it will have a true Retail release, so hoping online and expansions make it over on the cart or day one DLC. Maybe even some pre-order bonuses would be cool.

Yeah. Especially at Gamestop if they ever quote the first of the month for anything. Obvious placeholder. Amazon is usually more reliable. Either way, Amazon's a good indicator of an estimated date.

I don't see a reference to Xseed's facebook. :/ But I also assumed there were a few people who were unaware because they keep saying that we need to wait on Xseed to confirm a summer release, but they already have on their Facebook, that is what I was referring to, sorry if I missed something!

I'm actually surprised it is coming out so soon, I guess I'll try and do a little bit of overtime here and there to get my Vita, since I'll be needing it sooner than expected!!!

I don't think I'm going to pick up Dragon's Dogma until it's in the bargain bin or so just because of capcom being capcom. The game is decent but it kinda feels like a rip of The Elder Scrolls and Monster Hunter combined. Waiting for this game is probably going to be the pretty tough considering its the only real game I have been wanting for the year so far.

Well to me the sooner the better but I don't really want a rushed out project since it would ruin the impact and quality everybody has come to expect from Xseed. Though the prospect of the game coming out earlier does seem to get me a bit excited.

Well for me I live in the US so games are always released for me on Tuesdays and not usually Thursdays unless its an indie game. I mean it wouldn't matter what day the game comes out but I guess it varies depending on location. As for me no rush since I can play it when I have time with all the wonderful people here. : )

That is one example though I don't play it but Persona 4: The Golden comes out in october so its pretty close. I usually stay away from the battlefield series and COD series nowdays since a lot of people tend to have attitudes in those types of games and I'm tired of it. Also its the holiday season basically so a lot of games get released during that time anyway.

The astronomical time of Summer for the northern hemisphere is June 20 for the start and its end day is September 21 so it can come out anytime in between but hopefully it comes out sooner.

I've started checking the Capcom-Unity forums again and a lot of people there are starting to agree on Ragnarok Odyssey being their buy of the year because of how Capcom keeps ducking questions for the MH series. So the amount of players for the game should go up as a lot of people wanting a game similar to it are jumping into the bandwagon.

I suppose we can say here that Capcom has pretty much given up on the Monster Hunter for the PSP (localization wise), at least for the west that is.

For the PSP yes they have pretty much said no since sony didn't want to modify the Ad-hoc lan party for the HD version of the game. For the vita on the other hand is another story but still they pretty much pumping out MH for the 3DS and nothing for the vita so Ragnarok is going to be a really good game for those disappointed in other companies.

To me that stuff doesn't even bother me because you still getting the game either way and if you break your media format in physical copy you are screwed but if you get it digitally you can always get it again. People are used to having physical copies in their hands so they want it that way so they can feel like they really own it but you only own a license anyway not the actual game. If you really like a game just buy it and enjoy the game no matter what format its in.

I imagine that XSEED might release the demo sometime next month? They're bringing the game to Comic-Con next week and presumably it'll be in demo form like many of the other games present, so one might assume they have a fully working English language demo (unless it's another one of those "sneak peeks" like Sega pulled at E3 with Miku). When did the Sumioni demo come out? Before or after the full version? Because I'm willing to bet that Ragnarok will follow in a similar fashion.

IMO, XSEED will have to release the game before or after late October/early November, because there'll be more than five PS Vita games released within that period.

Europeans might have to download the demo from the NA psn as Europe will not get the game via Xseed but probably by another publisher as Shizuka said. Hopefully the Europeans do end up getting it so we have more people to play with if the system allows it.

Those are some pretty good games though Need for Speed series for me died after the PS1 because those where serious fun. Zone of the Enders HD is something I do want as that game is pure gold now in HD.

And I've now found a problem with that: retailers put their own release date, and push those dates further away, and those uninformed will think the publisher was the one that delayed the game. Either way, the company lose if they don't announce a release date (as far as possible) and honor it.

I remember hearing the calibration in that game was really off so maybe they fixed it but if they haven't then its going to be one really good game with really bad controls that will ruin it.

I've played Project Diva 2nd and Project Diva Extend, and those games never had calibration problems. I doubt Project Diva F has, and it'll be just as awesome, if not more, than the PSP games.

The calibration issue isn't with the button presses but with the touch screen as the calibration was off for that. I have both psp versions and those worked fine but the vita version is another story.

But the good thing is that because this game isnt narrative-heavy (i dont even think there is narrative in it, but you guys might be able to correct me on that) i can pretty much take a break from it and come back at it without losing sense of where I was. Im actually hyped for this one.

Woah the game has a pretty deep story at least to me and P3P was all hectic. P4G should be the same as its basically a upgrade with new content from the ps2 version so if I stop playing something like that without going through it fully I end up getting lost and then I have to start from scratch. I just want this game to come out before P4G or else I might get lost in that tv set.

I don't know if you misunderstood my post, but I was talking about RO when I said that the game doesn't seem to have a lot of story to it. Idk I could be mistaken and if i am, I'm sorry lol. Persona just gets me really hooked, and the bonds that I create with the characters are actually meaningful to me, and not just some kid of duty. This, the dark plot with some warm comedy and the amazing flow of combat, along with the soundtrack are what keep me wanting more from the game aha.

The story is basically saving the places you live in and you work as a hunter/defender trying to save the place from monsters. That is my take on the game but it really doesn't have much of a story kinda like Persona which is one of those games that pulls you in with feelings towards the characters as you make connections and bonds with them. Ragnarok Odyssey is all about kicking butt and being awesome and doing it with friends while looking cool at the same time.

Speaking of chat, will this game allow touch-screen typing on chat? If it does, it will be a huge step forward for online console RPGs. I haven't really played online RPGs since then, but I still remember having to buy a separate keyboard for my Dreamcast and going back and forth between it and the controller to communicate with people I met when I played PSO.

Well if you want you could make friends with us here and use party chat which should allow you to use the microphone feature unless it magically doesn't work which would suck. Either way I like the game enough to buy it either way and I use a keyboard already for Monster Hunter Tri for the wii.

Nope I take care of my things and I still have my consoles from the 80's and stuff that work just fine but it was just a comment on how some people don't take care of their stuff and like to break it.

I know that to get all of the games without going bankrupt, I'm only getting Zero's Escape and Persona 4: Golden out of all those PS Vita games. If Ragnarok Odyssey were to be released near those games, I'd have to delay one, and I really don't want to do that.

I know :'( My list for the vita so far is Little Kings Story (hopefully comes out in either late August or September), RO, Zero's Escape and P4G. All of these games need extensive time dedicated to them, specially story games like Zero and P4. My problem is that I'm very impulsive, and need to buy things day 1. This is going to require a lot of budget/time management on my part lol.

Well a lot of fps games where announced but they where all fps games but top tier games like Killzone mercenary which uses the same engine as Killzone 3. Hopefully RO comes out before the holiday Rush or as we know it here in the US October-November so this game gets some good sales in.

That's a trend that got stronger with a PS Vita; releasing both retail and digital version of games, but having the digital version at a lower price. They never have done that before (I don't recall if Ys I & II Chronicles had that), and this is the first retail & digital PS Vita game from XSEED.

Well if you want you could make friends with us here and use party chat which should allow you to use the microphone feature unless it magically doesn't work which would suck. Either way I like the game enough to buy it either way and I use a keyboard already for Monster Hunter Tri for the wii.

Well we will never know until its time as everybody just found out for the new Mass Effect 3 dlc that was said Aug 28 and the devs said nope its a lie but its coming out that day as it was just announced today for the 28th. Cladun x2 was fun on the psp but I wanted multiplayer in it and not like trading. It was fun up to a point but then it got a little lame and then I gave up on it and didn't wan to play it anymore. I did like The Unlosing Ranger and that game was amazingly fun and hilarious when the hero dude gets hit by the car and dies.

It's just a fighting game so I didn't bother at all plus the movie itself doesn't even use the original characters as Kite in the movie is a woman in real life. The original kite was a male but I think this takes place after G.U so its cool I guess.

That sucks. It was for me the perfect September release. I plan on going all handheld this autumn and September is the only month that looks a bit scarce with releases until LittleBigPlanet just at the end of the month. After that it's full speed ahead with Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Code of Princess, Ragnarok Tactics, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Persona 4: Golden, New Little King's Story and now Ragnarok Odyssey.

Not really, I don't support ATLUS so I'm not interested in P4A/G I was just bringing it up in general. This isn't the first time something like this has happened either. It's becoming less and less rare even.

All of my consoles are and, best I can see it, will always be region free. It's also up to the publisher too. On a "locked" console, it's rather unwise to not support multiple regions on a disc like, say, the English+Chinese version games. In SE Asia, for example, the region of peoples' consoles are more varied than they are in other locations for various reasons.

Console is banned in China by the government, if you want Chinese localized version of JRPG it will all be on PC. HK will be the only place in China localizing Japanese console games.

Likely because they already have titles coming out in the Summer they'd rather not compete with Ragnarok Odyssey for initial sales.

321jassman, that's another of those excuses smaller companies like to feed people to try and relieve some tension. It's not -that- big of a deal, if a deal at all. It'd be more likely a big deal if this was Call of Duty 531 or Halo 15, not little ol' Ragnarok Odyssey. The best case scenario here, for XSEED, is they have bit off more than their business can chew at the moment, and are playing catch up.
