I have a nintendo wii... and I have no JRPGs for it. Honestly I just use my Vita/PS3/PC for all my needs usually. One of you with a great knowledge of the game, tell me why I cannot miss this game? If I can get some valid opinions, I will absolutely support this game with a purchase.

From the little I know:
-Great reviews
-Directed by the guy that worked on all of these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hironobu_Sakaguchi) games
-You have a Wii, so why not? :) It's one of Wii's last hurrahs afterall!

+Great combat system
+Very distinct art style you wont find anywhere else
+Decent Soundtrack
+Controls work great
+Pretty good story, with good characters
+Online mode is a blast, and not just for fun, but unlockables too
+Look of characters is interchangeable, same goes for their weapons in-game & cut scenes.(Think Xenoblade)
+Great localization, proper translations, coupled with good voice acting
-Game is extremely easy
-Design choices like summoning monsters can make a good portion of levels feel empty(Ala FF3/FF8 design choices that look good on paper, but not well on screen)
-It has very few side quests
-Very short
-Love plot is a hit or miss
This is just my opinion. I would give the game a 7 out of 10 which is good. I say it's worth it, seeing as this is one of the last few Wii games we're getting.

Sounds like I would like it alot. Any idea how many hours of gameplay it has?

With side quests included, it took me 20 hours to complete the entire game. I do not include Multiplayer, only played a few matches & CO-OP sessions, but they were fun.
If you take the time to properly play this game, it should run about 30 hours with all side-quests. Some say they beat it around 20, but I know of people who've spent almost 40 hours on theirs. It just depends on how much you like the game and how much time you spend doing arena battles, replaying dungeons, quests, hunting for items to upgrade, etc. After that, it depends on how much you enjoy online gaming. It also has a new game+ mode if you missed anything during your first playthrough(some chapters are missable).
If you already have a Wii and have no JRPGs for it, why not give it a shot?
Isn't any game by Sakaguchi worth playing? I'm not saying they're all great, but I've never played one of his games and regretted it.

- excellent battle system
- soundtrack made by Uematsu (I LOVE it !)
- the bonds within your crew : They talk to each other almost everywhere^^
- chara design made by Kimihiko Fujisaka (Drakengard)
- you always have something to do in town
- the uk dub is well done (no Japanese track here)
+40 hours for me to beat it, without online play.

Also, I find the battle system, a mixture of traditional RPG and cover-based modern gameplay, to be fresh and interesting.
Also, there is a majestic tiger in it, IIRC. ;p

Everything I've personally played from him are all great/excellent...but, hey, I'm something of a Sakaguchi/Square Soft/Mistwalker fan, so I'm probably extremely biased XP
At the very least, as you've mentioned, I don't think he's ever made anything so horrible that the general audience has regretted playing.

Well there is Final Fantasy 3....it has a lot of gamers who don't particularly like it.
^ Are you referring to the remake? The original?
Strangely enough, FF3 is pretty much the only FF game I haven't played. I can't say I've heard people talking about how bad it is though because, just in general, not many talk about it.

I'm surprised to hear that. I liked FF3 far better than 1 or 2, and I thought the storyline was pretty unique and creative for its time.

For clarification, which final fantasy 3? JP or US numbered? Example. FF3 here back then was 6 in japan.

I'm referring to the Japanese FF3. I assumed that since many people consider the Japanese FF6 (US FF3) to still be the best game in the series, the OP was also referring to the Japanese FF3 as well.

Nah, I am sorry. I still get rather confused sometimes on the numbers of 2/3/4/6 of the series.
