Hi, so I've been looking up TiTs on Tvtropes and came across this:

Doing It for the Art: How else do you explain XSEED Games's willingness to localize a trilogy of games with such ginormous amounts of text, which no other localizer showed signs of having plans to work on?

Not that's it a bad thing though just wanted to point it out haha :D.

Well, I assume they realized that the amount of text + nicheness would render it a fairly unprofitable game, so probably!

Hmm, guess what's popular in Japan isn't always popular outside of it eh?

Because it is good, the plot, characters, and gameplay, is art the only alternative? And they probably knew their fans would enjoy it. Yeah the art is good too, but it is really strange to say that is why it was localized.

I don't think 'the art' means like... the artwork itself. They're doing it for the art of the game as a whole. If you read the trope, it's about the art as a whole- not just the artwork. The characters, gameplay, story... everything is considered the 'piece of art' that the game is.

...but this will start up the whole 'games as art' argument, I imagine. :(
