Post here if you have problems with running xseeds steam games. This is not an official support thread nor will, probably, xseed help spend manpower on it but us technical forum viewers will help you guys out as best as we can.

The Basics:

Update your video drivers.

Nvidia:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/indexsg.aspx?lang=en-us

AMD/ATI:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Update your sound drivers:

Creative:

I only know of creative at the moment sorry. Onboard drivers should be available at your motherboards manufacture website.

Run defrag.
Validate your installation in steam incase corruption has occured.
Run your antivirus/spyware/malware for any infections.

If you want to or have to update your video drivers and you do not know what video card you have in you computer, follow this.

Start menu -> Run-> type "dxdiag" -> go to display tab.

Steam actually has an automated video driver update too if you're using an ati card. You can also do a manual update via steam by clicking the steam pull down menu (usually where "file" option is placed) and selecting amd video driver update.

When updating drivers, do you have to uninstall the one you have currently and then install the new one, or do you just download the new one? I have honestly never thought of drivers until recently...

No, you dont have to uninstall the existing drivers. Just install the new drivers you downloaded for your video card.

The only reason to do that is if you have a corrupt install or by some freak programming they link it to an old file that was depreciated.

Oh, well that is nice to know, thank you. :3 How long do updates usually take? Just so I know when to schedule it in; Ys: Origin will hopefully work without me having to update at all, but other games might not be as nice.

Driver updates usually takes at from at least a minute to 5 minutes. It Depends on the size of the update.

Ys Origin will work without updates 100% I am sure of that, but updating might increase the games performance and allow you to increase your graphic settings for the game. For Example: Normal to High.

Depends if your a person who focuses on graphics.

Aww, it looks like I am probably going to have to do it then. :( Which sucks, because I hate downloading things, not sure why.

Well, thank you for the info. :3 When the time comes, well, I can just hope that things go smoothly.

This is not really XSEED issue but everything. It is about sound card.

I just want to know if there is a way to make my intergrated sound card (Realtek Audio HD ALC 892) support my 5.1 logitech speakers. Or do I need to get completely new sound card? If so, do you know if USB sound cards are any good?

I have my speakers set 5.1 on Windows Control Panel and when I do 5.1 test there, it works well. But when I try any game, music file or youtube video, it only plays 2.1 audio.

No, do not get a new sound card for a problem like this. Realtek Audio HD ALC 892 is a 7.1 sound card so you shouldn't have a problem with getting it to run in 5.1 settings. Make sure you've fully completed the configuration process. Did you select 5.1 then click "next"? As for games, games will usually only play in 5.1 after you've changed the audio setting to 5.1 in the games sound options if they have it as an option. Not all games are 5.1 compatible.

Oh lol, I had not noticed there was "Speaker Fill" option to be checked (creates virtual environment for playback of stereo audio sources on surround speaker systems) . Now it at least plays some sound with mp3s and tube videos, dunno if its good but better than nothing :)

Is it possible to have Ys Felghana to play through 5.1 speakers? Anyone here with 5.1 speakers to confirm that? :)

I don't think felghana has surround sound support. It's only stereo.
