Indeed. I'm not sure what else I'd list. Ys games obviously. Would have to think about it.

Personally, I don't consider games like the Tales series, Star Ocean series, etc to be "action" RPGs. It's fine if others do, but I just consider those "real-time" RPGs since, besides attacking enemies, you don't really have much freedom to dodge, jump, or do "action-y" things. Just thought I'd specify that before presenting my list. =P

1) Tales of Vesperia
2) Star Ocean: The Last Hope - International-
3) Infinite Undiscovery
4) Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
5) Phantasy Star Portable
6) Eternal Sonata
7) Magna Carta 2
8) Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel
9) Ys Seven
10) Star Ocean: First Departure
11) Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
12) Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
13) Ys: The Oath in Felghana
14) Mimana Iyar Chronicle
15) Ys II
16) Ys I

Edit: I changed my mind and decided to include games such as Star Ocean and Tales...I mean, they obviously aren't turn based or SRPGs, so I just decided to stick them in this list...

Oh wow, someone else who loves Infinite Undiscovery, I think my bro-love for you just grew Echi. *fist-bump*

That game is criminally underrated imo.

Side note: were you upset when Capell went back to his lame voice for attacks too? I liked his pissed off "I'm gonna kill you!" attack voice.

yeah xenoblade slipped my mind. Make that number 1 and move everything down

My biggest complaint with Infinite Undiscovery was the lack of character development for a majority of the characters. Some of them had fine amounts, such as Capell, but most had practically none...Besides that, though, I really enjoyed the game. :)

Oh, and to answer your question, Lumina, I like Capell's original voice more, actually...I did like when he got all "ROOOOAR!", though, because of the stuff that had just happened, but I like Capell as a nice guy more than an aggressive one. :3

All Ys PSP games
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Gurumin
All Castlevania DS games
Magna Carta 2

I would love to jump on the Infinite Undiscovery love, but the NA ver doesn't run on JP360s, and I cannot find an Asia version of it anywhere. Might be just stuck playing it in Japanese, once I get around to picking it up.

Ah Gurumin, The often overlooked Falcom game. Good pick, Parin is so cute lol

Demons' Souls should surely be on the list. Superb gameplay (i.e. hit detection, fairness of dodging etc.), memorable bosses, level designers who assume the player is actually competent, fun if a bit limited multiplayer and a rather compelling gothic atmosphere. On the RPG side, magic, melee, range and holy builds are all perfectly viable, although there are some balance issues.

Aside from Star Ocean The Last Hope and Tales of Vesperia, I'm not sure. Do Ar Tonelico Qoga and Eternal Sonata count? What about Dissidia?

dissidia is more fighting game
