UMvC3 or BlazBlue Vita?

I am planning to purchase a new Vita game tomorrow and was considering either BlazBlue or UMvC3. Has anyone on the forum played either of these games? I have read tons of reviews for both, and they have been mostly positive for both games. It makes it very tough to choose. I trust the taste of almost anyone who visits the X-Seed forums, so any help would be appreciated.

I suggest Blazblue, only because I'm sure it'll be the harder to find of the two. I mean, I've seen ALOT of places sell out of Marvel (pretty popular), but knowing not many places even stock Blazblue...

Sorry! I just realized that I failed to put the full title for Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 anywhere in my original post. A rookie mistake right there!

I think I may be leaning towards BlazBlue since you all pointed out that it may be tough to find. It would be my first BlazBlue game. I've always intended to get around to playing one.

I suggest it also because unlike when I played Continuum Shift II my first Blazblue game. In Extend they explain what happened in Calamity Trigger which is the beginning and then go with Continuum Shift were your already suppose to know whats going on. After that I think we just follow the new storyline that Extends puts up when we finished the Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift storylines

That sounds excellent! I love a fighter with a story. I'm sure the art looks beautiful on the Vita's screen.

It does actually compared to the PSP graphics I have to say the amount of graphic quality is amazing and the story from my experience playing Continuum Shift on my PSP and with some of my experience now with Calamity its pretty good. Anime cutscenes are pretty amazing in quality as well.

I just went and picked up BlazBlue Extend. I noticed that the only store in the Portland area that listed it as in stock was GameStop (yuck). So I figured I had better act fast. I also got the last copy that they had. First impressions are, "holy cow it looks amazing!" I can't wait to play it more tonight.

^ Agreed. Plus, I feel like BlazBlue has a little more content in terms of a pretty robust visual-novel style story mode. :> For your first game, it'll probably last you a little longer than UMvC. And, like everyone said, it'll be easy-peasy to find later.

Great to hear! I heard that UMvC didn't have many modes. There seems to be a ton of content for BlazBlue. I'm glad to be in the BlazBlue game after so long. :D

I already have both. I only got Blazblue just so i could carry Noel everywhere I go. In terms of content, Blazblue without a doubt rolls over UMvC in that area, however I would take UMvC's chaotic gameplay over Blazblues anyday. UMvC has been dumping update after update since it's release, this includes adding Heroes and Heralds mode which is actually pretty fun. So far the only update Blazblue has gotten is 2 Noel system voices which I'm actually happy for since I DESPISE the default system voice. If I had to choose one of these games for you, I wouldn't be able to since they're both near perfect portable fighting games. The only gripe I have for UMvC3 are the load times. They're not OMFG awful, but they are "wtf?" longer than they should be.

You can say that again. I literally laughed my head off when in Continuum Shift II when I saw Rachel's gag reel. Ragna sure is charmer to the female species and Jin... for some reason. I want to use to sunglasses at least once too.

I've been very happy with BlazBlue so far. The art is beautiful and the load times are pretty snappy. Its been a treat guys!
