Unforeseen conditions (I can't say circomstances with a u? puft) would not allow me to finish this game, but I remember having extreme difficulties picking one lass to pursue which doesn't happen very often for me in HM/RF games. ): Selphy, Cinnamon, Bianca (for some reason, maybe the hair), Melody, Lara, and Rosetta (she reminds me of carey mulligan leave me alone) stood out but looking at them all now I kind of like everyone. sigh. I need to play this game during summer.

I still haven't gotten married, and I'm having the hardest time picking, but I am leaning toward Cinnamon and Eunice so far.

Even though I feel like ToT handled its bachelor/ettes well (and AP kind of killed everyone), I think RF:F is the better HM/RF game on the Wii as far as love interests go. And well, Oceans may compete. I do like the designs of the girls, but I am very disappointed in the lack of male bachelors... But I think Frontier has fun bachelorettes that have nice, distinct personalities.

Well even if we get 3 save files I just tend to overwrite as the old games only gave you 2 save slots. You should play RF1-3 for the DS as they are just pure gold while Oceans in my opinion is best played on Wii. Though I think in Oceans I might have decided to marry Mikoto since I think she is pretty awesome and that short hair once she cuts it is just too cute.

I usually pick the implied to be canon choice out of laziness. In Oceans I made multiple save files since there wasn't a limit, but I picked Sonia first.
If I had the choice for RF3, I would've done a harem ending since every female was great. :p

Since there really is no canon choice for RF4, I'm going to have a tough time picking.
For FEMALE I'm looking at Xiao Pai, Amber and Forte and MALE I'm thinking about Doug, Kiel, or Vishnal.

RF4: I married Arthur and....Arthur. (3rd file is my Lest file) for the English release I may mix it up and marry Arthur, Leon and Xiao Pai. But my Arthur file will always be my main one.

Thanks for the response! I'm not too big into Kiel for the bachelors..but I still like him (just not marriage-wise) and I confess I still honestly don't know much about Amber, so I'm certainly looking forward to getting to know her better in the English version.

Do you prefer zany characters like in RF3? Or the more realistic personalities in RF4? Or a healthy mix of each? :D I tend to like more realistic personalities, with a little mix of quirk (Illy/Porco/Volk) myself.

I married Raven in RF3, because I felt she was one of the least quirky of the bunch.

Hmmm... Doug is OK. His hair/demeanor appeals to me, but I prefer more, ah, mature-looking characters. Leon and Dylas (sadly Bado isn't available, though I'm basing my interest here purely off his design, not personality) would be my picks. Honestly, I hadn't really decided until recording, but the Leon session was just too endearing*, so he stuck with me.

Arthur's 'glasses line' will surely entice all, though.

*By endearing I mean that his VA's two takes would always be 1) Leon being his teasing, deep voiced self, and 2) Leon giving it all in his bedroom voice with the VA winking through the glass. Even the tamest of lines would reduce us to tears of laughter and red ears.

Overall I give Rune Factory 4 to the bachelors. I've been very partial to them as I've been looking over the text. Clorica is my favorite female, however!

Leon is my favorite by far- he's dreamy. He's always looking for the next thing to entertain him and he naturally keeps his cool. He has a silver tongue and often speaks in circles without lying and in half-truths just to see someone get flustered. I like that about him. Second favorite would be Doug- not too bright and he's vulgar, but despite that he's loyal to those he loves and expresses with action and words equally. I guess you could say he's like Kuwabara from YYH? Delinquent with a heart of gold. Third favorite is Arthur, with Dylas following closely behind as I've been going through his text. Arthur is smart, a hard worker and normally quite formal, but his thing for glasses is just...really cute. He has moe moments. Very, very moe moments.

Actually, we ALL like Doug. ;) He's pretty much the only bachelor that everyone in the office seems to agree on. So I have no idea why the people you talked to dislike him -- maybe because he's one of the harder bachelors to marry, as his backstory takes a lot of time and effort to flesh out.

I really dislike his personality first and foremost, but that's probably more of a personal taste thing. Also, for story reasons I just can't seem to like him very much. (I do like his design though) Add onto that how long it takes to marry him, his marriage sub-event which I disliked, and the fact that compared to others his fighting skills are incredibly mediocre, I just.. can't. I will admit his dates are rather cute!

But opinions are opinions. For every me out there, there's probably someone who absolutely loves the guy. I know he's quite popular in Japan, along with Dylas and Leon, so~

Vishnal isn't too popular around the office, but nobody dislikes him, either. He's a sweet guy with a good personality, he's just a bit TOO obsessed with butlering, and is thus a bit overly stiff and formal for many of our tastes. When he lets himself go a bit, though, it's quite adorable. ;)

Forte is kind of like his female equivalent -- as a knight, she's VERY strict and formal, but again, once you get her to come out of her shell a bit, she's quite cute.

It's interesting that you're asking about those two, too, as they happen to be the worst two cooks in the game. Forte is renowned for making ovens explode, and Vishnal's cooking is rated a "17 out of 100" by Volkanon at one point. ;)

After putting in over 100 hours as a test run, my tastes have both stayed the same in some areas but changed in others. Leon is still my number one! He's even dreamier in-game than he was in text-form. Dylas, however, has taken my number two spot. Somehow I picked up on him right away. Kind of tsundere at first, but a manlier one. Arthur remains at three, Doug at four, etc.

Probably one of my bigger surprises was liking Kiel and Forte in-game more. Didn't think much of either of them in text form, even disliked them, but, well, it's hard to dislike anyone in-game. It's so pleasant. Their personalities in context are much more agreeable. I'd still have to stick with Clorica as my favorite female, however.

I honestly don't have too much of an opinion about Xiao Pai. To be honest, I think her mother Lin Fa is the more desirable character, especially since she isn't a bachelorette.

Dolce is a rather interesting character, especially with her gothic clothes, but to be honest I think Pico would have been a better choice.

Finally, Margaret is quite a good bachelorette. She looks good, fights good, and overall seems to have a rather kind and gentle personality.

So, to sum everything up I would have to say my favorite bachelorettes from this game are going to be Margaret, Forte, and Clorica.

To be fair people had the option of not clicking it so it was up to them in the end if they wanted a spoiler or not. I myself tend to ignore the spoilers and not look them up but I do love reading background history about certain things. Since the forums doesn't have a spoiler tag you might want to just add some sort of warning about what the link is so people who don't really read and just skim will not stumble into a spoiler.

I've also revised my list of bachelorettes. Margaret, Forte, Clorica, Amber, Xiao Pai, and Dolce. I'll probably need to think about it some more later though.

For bachelorettes, the bottom middle with the white hair makes me smile every time I look at this image (I have a bigger copy as my background...and no I didn't draw it, wish I did though). Currently between her and the top left with the top hat at the moment. She seems a bit mysterious. That's without knowing anything about them, though I'll see who captures me during game-play before I make any decisions on who to actively pursue.

I'm still laughing over the fact that when it came to pick the love interests at the Xseed offices one of the picks for Tom was Mothra. That was hilarious and it pretty much made my day since if you know what or who mothra is then you know his pick.

I'm not sure if it can be Forte... I mean, since you're the prince of the town Forte is practically your knightly slave who follows you everywhere you go. Although, I have heard she has a strong-willed personality (which I don't consider a spoiler, since as she's a knight that's pretty obvious) but maybe she's bossy to other characters, and not to you? Hmmm... I dunno, maybe I'll ask Tom or Hatsuu about it since I don't mind spoilers.

@Hatsuu - Is Vishnal in last place for you? I know a lot of people like him as a character, but not so much as a husband. (Though on Ushi he's really popular.. he wasn't very popular in the Japan character polls I've seen). All of the characters are so great ._.

Not really last, I think that'd go to Kiel. He's least appealing as a bachelor. I don't really outright hate any of the bachelors, but there's definitely ones I find more appealing. Design-wise, Vishnal was initially my favorite, so it kind of surprises me how little I've come to notice him in comparison to others.

Xiao Pai isn't really a loli at all. She's clumsy in mind and body, which is meant to be charming, but she's fairly mature as a person. I think some people might like her because she has insecurities people can relate to underneath her trope (that's not to say the other characters don't have insecurities, but I think hers is one of the more realistic ones), but I won't discuss them too much since I know people want to discover the characters for themselves.

I generally keep my posts non-spoiler and go for basic information presented from the beginning so no one feels cheated. Forte is a very independent person, princely, dutiful, loyal, etc. She's the kind of girl who doesn't know what to do with her femininity so she hides it underneath her hobbies, which are quite masculine. She's popular and well-liked with the girls in the game, haha.

Not slave-y, she just feels it's her honor to protect the town. One special feature about her is that she's the only character who you can invite to join your party from the get-go. In-game, this is because she wants to make sure all citizens of Selphia feel protected when they travel, so a knight should always accept an invitation to escort someone on the field. The rest of the characters will only accept your invitations to fight with you after you become good friends with them.

Thanks for clarifying all that, Hatsuu. However, there is something that I kinda *need* to know before this game is released. Like Tom, I don't mind spoilers so if you want you can send me the answer via a PM. You said Saber - sorry, I mean Forte would follow you from the very beginning. I've known this for a while, but there is something I don't know yet. This question is in regards to Forte *not* being at max friendship at the time. Does Forte follow you indefinitely, or does she get tired and return to protect the town after following you for a few hours? Also, do characters at max friendship follow you forever like they did in Rune Factory 3 (I don't consider this to be a spoiler, since its not huge information and since Rune Factory 3 is already out), or do they get tired and go home even at max friendship? Like I said, you can PM me the information if you'd rather not post it on here and spoil everyone. Tom could send it to me too, either way. When either of you have time, of course.

I'm sorry if I spoiled you in some way, but I thought everybody knew that. I mean, the joke about how Forte looks like Saber has been around for over a year, since a few images of what the characters look like surfaced before the game was even released in Japan.
