I've actually been trying to import the game but have been frustrated for the last few days (game.co.uk canceled my order due to lack of stock, Zavvi was having problems with my payment info...), so this is totally awesome.

It's great that this game is coming over and even better that it's Xseed localizing it. Judging by how popular this game seems to be this should give you guys a pretty nice boost when it comes out. I don't own a Wii so unfortunately I can't help you guys out this time, but who knows with this coming out and Xenoblade Chronicles I may spring for a Wii somewhere down the road. A Vita comes first however since it will most likely be getting Persona 4: The Golden and there is no way I can pass up an improved version of my favorite game.

That's not necessarily related to today's announcement, but is almost certainly indicative of future announcements. All that means is that they're in the Steam registry and that they'll release something there eventually.

I debated importing, but decided to wait and give NoA a shot and see if they did anything by E3. Doesn't help that I wasn't nearly as interested in this game as Xenoblade, but eh.

I haven't followed things too closely, but it seemed at the time that the majority of importers were mostly just interested in Xenoblade. Last Story and Pandora's Tower being icing on the cake.

Yes, I'll probably emulate it if it's compatible enough. Requires a very nice PC though, and in order to do it legit you really need to have a Wii to rip the game. There are very few DVD drives that can read Wii and GCN discs.

Why emulate if you already have a Wii? That's precisely why I took these screenshots (1080p):

The game has a TON of voice acting. XSEED probably wouldn't have picked it up if they couldn't get the existing English work.

It would be cool if we got separate VO but I don't think it's practical at this point. I think they will want to release this quickly as the interest in the Wii is dwindling. This is great simply because it is literally fan service, they release the games specifically for the niche market that they have.

I know, but there aren't any in my country, console or games. Buying it online still poses some problems for my country, so until that has been resolved, that option is also out. And even if I could get the game I really don't want to play it on emulator, as I already paid the price when I got Sakura Wars: So Long My Love. My PC is pretty weak so it couldn't handle a game like that. Especially graphics heavy like The Last Story.

Yea there's a 3DS version too, but I think the Wii version would control better and iirc it was the lead platform. Besides the WiiU will be fully backwords compatible with Wii software so will probably see a resurgence of Wii game sales after that's released, just like Gamecube ones did after Wii was released.

Quick correction to someone's post above: Eternal Darkness was a second party game, by Silicon Knights, who is no longer making games for Nintendo.
Pandora's Tower is M rated I believe only for the important story/game mechanic of feeding monster guts to keep a woman alive ;).
Of course I have not played the game, but judging by what has been said about it, it seems it is for that bit of mature storytelling. Perhaps there is a little bit of gore to it. But other than that, it is a Nintendo title. There won't be any real mature things like sex/drugs/extreme violence.

I have a Wii that I bought recently. I did specifically for these titles, I felt they might come over. But also because of Skyward Sword, among a few others. There are surprisingly quite a number of good Wii games, but you just can't find them anywhere. You gotta dig for them.

Aren't second party studios somehow owned (aka a sister company) by the publisher? I don't think Silicon Knights was ever owned by Nintendo, I'm pretty sure they were just under an exclusivity contract with Nintendo for 4 or 5 years.

I already have a copy imported from Europe but only because I couldn't resist the limited edition items. Definitely looking forward to summer when I'll actually be able to play the game. Please release a limited edition because I'll still pick that up if given the opportunity. It has been my most anticipated title for a long time now. I only hope XSEED receives as much joy out of this partnership as the joy they've given to many with the news of the game's localization.

Amazon/Gamestop also say it's June 19 so unless XSEED knows something they don't, that should be the date. It's always possible some unexpected delay could come up.
