If you're not in the mood for very tactical games and all of these on the list sound appealing, my pick would be... any of the Star Oceans I suppose! Or Valkyrie Profile.

I have them both, but I can't decide the one I'll pick. The original or the remake...

I also started Star Ocean 1 a while ago, but oops those are handheld so I keep them for internship ^^ (c'mon I have like 3h00 a day of transport + my free time after the work)

I vote for Suikoden I. It's a fantastic game and it's pretty short, it will only take you 10-15 hours to beat it. And it will make you want to play Suikoden II, which is one of the best RPGs ever.

Skies of Arcadia or Lunar Silver Star Harmony are my suggestions but once you get to a mood where you want to play tactical games I'm joining Milius on Phantom Brave.

It's now 2 years later and it's still on my to-play list... ;)

Golden sun 2 is for my internship :P I'll have about 3-5 hours (3h00 of travel and at least 2 the evening) a day to play video games.

Guess I'll play both suikoden :-) Thanks a lot guys, I'll retake the thread after those two :P

I think you should absolutely play Dark Cloud (and eventually, Dark Cloud 2, but the two chapters aren't related), Wild Arms 3 and Alter Code F. I've just finished Chrono Cross, and if you've played and liked Chrono Trigger, you will surely like it. Also the 3 games of Xenosaga are worth to be played (especially the 3rd, but you have to play them in order, or else you'll understand nothing).

Xenosaga...I dropped the first. The combat system is so slow, almost no music, ackward battle system...

Yeah the first is boring for the combat system (can't skip the animation). The second is not a bad title, but the great weakness is the narration of the story. The third instead is a true masterpiece.
Eventually, you can watch the 10 hours of movie scenes on youtube of the first two (but of course is not as good as to play them entirely), and then play the third

awww... the first xenosaga was fun with the mechs (forgot what they are called), people all say they suck but with some good upgrades, I was able to destroy pretty much every boss with them :)

Thanks to all those who asked me to play Suikoden, it's such a good game, I'm trying the perfect ending at first try (using list not to miss anyone), then it'S Suikoden II time, after that...I wonder yet ^_^
