Well, the game is finally released...and the OST is awesome, and I love awesome OSTs in games, so....there should be a thread for posting some of this awesomeness....yeah, I'm about to enter fanboy mode...I was on a state of "wow, this is great" at the beginning, but when this theme began to sound, I just...ok, I can't waste more time here, I gotta go, the Corpse Party OST invites me. Hear it or not, rest of the world, for it is an OST that summons thee to hell or to hell!!!

Yeah, I'm quite aware its your upload, as I'm quite aware you even put it on the "non-xseed music you should hear"...but now, it IS XSEED, and just like LoH has a music thread. This game also deserves one. So far, every track has been awesome, and I mean it when I say it. Really, really amazing.

I agree with everybody else, the Chapter 5 songs are the best, although I've liked the simplicity from the songs on the first two chapters.

I actually don't have a favorite chapter or songs...its just that...everything is perfect for its moment. As Shizuka said, the simplicity of the firsts songs is also great, it gives a kinda retro feeling which is awesome.

Of course...the ending theme is just....pure epicness.

The ending theme is called "Confutatis no Inori," BTW -- Prayer of Confutatis.

That's the credits theme, anyway. The theme played during the ending proper is called "Yami ni Nureta Catastrophe" -- Catastrophe Wet With Darkness.

Yeah, one thing Book of Shadows definitely has over this game is its bonus content. Every art still unlockable in an art gallery (with the ability to save screenshots), every BGM track unlockable in a sound test mode (where you can pair them up with art gallery images), commentary tracks from the voice actors, true save-anywhere functionality (even in the middle of a sentence!) AND an adjustable fast-forward option.

Throw all of those into the first game and it would make for the greatest rerelease EVER. (:

Ah, voice actor interviews. The one thing that never gets subtitled, and I'm certain they'd be really interesting with these particular voice actors.

Now that I've played all 5 chapters, I can fully agree that Corpse Party has an awesome soundtrack. The Nightmare of the School Years and the Main BGM (going off what Wyrdwad titled them on youtube) are some of my favourites. It saddens me that I cannot get a full soundtrack for this game.

i kinda miss some of the tracks that were used in the PC version,if only they offer some ost option to either listen to the old ost or the new ost like they did with Persona 2

really badass ending song but sadly not many ppl well let this song play since at max it plays for 30 secs then u go to the next chapter, but i wish their was at was a 2 min credit screen so ppl can hear its awesomeness

I think you already bumped the thread there when you posted the one with the 3 videos. ;)

As for the videos themselves...

Ending (Chapter 3 Version) - I have to say, all of the openings and endings sound capitalize on the plot progression very nicely, and this is no exception. I think I had this one on repeat for hours after I first saw the end of Chapter 3. Naho's speech is very unsettling & motivating at the same time, and the music drives that feeling home.

The Nightmare of the School Years - This was the first thing I heard when I randomly saw someone playing Corpse Party. Let's just say I'm an audiophile to begin with, but yeah, this was one of the three big points that immediately grabbed my attention (the other two being the elaborate Wrong Ends and the binaureal audio, but that's getting off-topic...). There's a lot to do in Chapter 5, and this beat leads the way through a lot of it. Definitely a favorite.

Main 3 Theme (Morishige's Theme) - Not one I actively look for when fishing for tracks to listen to in the background, but it is one of the memorable Search Mode themes unique to BoS. The series' uses of guitar riffs are lovely, and this piece does it well too <3 The trumpets are a little overpowering though.

As for my own selections from BoS, probably this:

The chirp of chiptunes with that driving guitar riffing is always nice to listen to when traversing in Search Mode. A fitting Chapter 2 piece, especially regarding the title.

I'd contribute more but most of my other favorites aren't on Youtube. :(

I was amazed by how well-timed the music is if you match it up to the dialogue between Mitsuki & Fukuroi and the events that occur. Another example of well-choreographed synchronization, only thing that really tops it in this game would be the Insert Theme's execution at the end Chapter 5's True End.
