I'm getting a little sick of every other game video I see on youtube (and other video streaming sites with user-generated content) having links to isos/roms. I'd like to help do something about this, but everywhere I look sites say they wont do a thing unless the one reporting abuse is the actual copyright holder or a representative.
I understand going after individual sites is not a possibility, but isn't their a way we can at least do something to get supposedly legit sites like Youtube to take notice of certain videos/accounts?

Aren't companies attacking Youtube videos like crazy, though?

Yea but a lot of their take downs don't make sense. They seem to be going after the wrong people (ie mostly the regular fans instead of pirates).

Exactly. That's what bugs me the most.

It's none of your business. Quit being an internet nanny.

That seems extremely ironic in some ways coming for you. It's not much different from downloading digital games, except you know illegal and bad for the gaming industry as a whole.

Wow Nephlabobo, did you just endorse mass piracy?
There's a big difference between looking for trouble and turning a blind eye when you see it right in front of you. That "It's none of my business, someone else will take care of it" mentality is what leads to stuff like this happening: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/25/nyregion/25stab.html

Well, yeah, they get noticed before pirates. Videos with ROMs and ISOs in the link generally aren't the biggest hits afaik.

I find it pretty annoying as well. A lot of times it is for games that are fairly recent too
